Nice looking heli. I'm thinking of getting one. Are those stock main gears?

This is a nice one. I am also interested where I can buy a main gear like yours. Do the standard pinions fit with this gear?

The gears are of the Robbe SPIRIT L-16, it adapts to you.
To a my friend with 5S it has been broken off main gear
The gears of the Spirit are sturdie.

The gears are these: (Robbe parts)

S5364 PINION SET 12/13/14/15
S5238 GEAR 60/20 TEETH M1

I demand you if possible the data of your heli.
Thanks.
Enrico

The gear and pinions sound interesting. Does the S5238 Gear come with the metal plate and all you need to assemble on the 3dx500? You are writing about a 11T pinion in your setup, but it is not in the set? So many questions :D

I have:
Kora 15-12
Jazz 55 6 18
3*3150
1*Graupner DS3781
Gy401
Rx 146iP
Batt Hyperion 3700 4S

Weight: 1616g

With 4S the gear holds without problem.

I will try the supplied gear, but I do not trust it because it looks and feels like weak plastik. If it breakes, I will go for enrys solution.

By the way: Is your 3dx500 in original condition? It looks very light weight to me. Or is it a Lepton? The gear of the Lepton is made of stronger material. This is an alternative solution for the main gear of the 3dx500, too.

Sorry, it's a Lepton i have. With several carbon upgrades. Adding more weight. It flys very well.
The main gear of the Lepton holds perfectly with 4S. But i know 5S is too much for it. Istvan was making one in plain Delrin some time ago. I have one, in case off. Maybe 2, i don't remember. It's not as true than the one from Hirobo but it's true enough to do good work. (i tried it).

I will see what mine does. Until now the heli is still bound to the ground. But I hope to get it ready soon. One cyclic servo died during setup so I need to get a new one first.

This is exactly the weight difference I was told between a Lepton and a 3dx500/hdx500 barebone: The Lepton hat 140 grams less than the 3dx500/hdx500.

Hi John !!!

I am not sure which aluminium frame parts you mean?? I don't have any parts more ??? Which parts to you mean.??? I don't know why my HDX is so light ??
Which motor do you use in the HDX maybe mine is a lighter one..... All other parts ( servos gyro and Esc should be not big differenzes ).... I use a X-Power Pro Torque 3015/8 Heli and it is 180g. The Heli has 1230 g without lipo.
Did you get the personal mail from me ????
