Hey Guys
The 24AWG, extremely flexible wire used for receiver antenna, any one know how many strands at what gauge these antenna wires are? And the insulation type.

I dont want to purchase 2ft at a time online, I would rather purchase a small spool, but I need an idea of the number of strands and gauge of the strands so I can figure out how to order it.

Thanx!

Just 24 gauge multi strand is all you need. I have bought it at electronics supply stores. About the least amount that can be purchased is a 50 ft. roll. Unless you can find a store that sells it by the foot. I was lucky enough to find a store that did that.

Thanx.
I know that technically, any 24AWG will work electrically, but the more flexible the wire is, the better (for my RC monster truck). The antenna kinda gets beat up when the vehicle gets flipped over and skids along its roof. I have stranded 24AWG wire at work, but it's pretty stiff.

I dont mind buying a small spool, I just dont want to have to purchase 40 inches at a time from an online hobby shop, and have shipping charges exceed the wire cost. :arggg:

I just put an order for spare parts and did not order the spare wire since I thought it would be easy to find :dontknow

The flexibility basically is because the insulation is flexible. Like I said above, go to a shop that sells electronic supplies. Not Radio Shack. A shop that specializes only in small electronic switches, transistors, diodes, wire.

Digikey is a good source
