Has anyone stripped down a kontronik kora motor? I was finishing up a pinion change on mine it it has become extremely notchy. I think it has ingested a stray metal filing. I have been able to remove the main drive shaft by loosening the top and bottom grub screws on the motor, but i cannot get the can away from the windings? Anyone know the trick, or do i need a new motor? :arggg:

Ok, i have worked it out. Remove the pinion off the shaft, and the upper grub screw opposite the motor leads. Gently tap the top of the 5mm shaft and the bottom red section will split from the grey can. Remove the screw that holds the windings and top case together. Secure the grey can in a vice gently, and tap the red section near the small bearing until they come apart. You should now be able to pull the winding out from the permanent magnets with a small amount of effort.
I was attaching a new pinion, and my helikraft hex driver snapped, i found two very small segments on the permanent magnet. On reassambly it now appears fine, though i damaged a bearing trying to find out the way to get it apart. Hopefully it will live another day :dontknow
