View Full Version : Washout block pins hit swash?

I noticed yesterday afternoon two small rub marks on the upper plate of my swash. It seems that at full positive pitch with very little cyclic input my swash rubs up against the washout bracket pins. I am set up for +/- 13* with 7-8* cyclic response. I am not often at full positive pitch, but there are times where I will pop full positive for a fraction of a second combines with cyclic to arrest movement. Does anyone else have this interaction. If I lower the swash on the shaft I don't have enough downward travel to get equal pitch ranges.

I had the same issue with the rod lengths as given in the manual. I had to lower the swash plate to 18mm above the upper main gearing block (the depth of a fuel bottle cap) at zero stick with a linear pitch curve..That gave me 13/-13 without hitting those darn washout pins and 8 degrees of cyclic response. I had to adjust the rods to zero out the blade pitch at center stick..

I guess I'll have to do the same thing. I only need/care for +/- 13* so giving up the possibility of +/- 14* is not really a big deal. I've had a couple of screws securing servo arms back out on me so far, and I suspect this was the problem. Thanks.
