If you like gluing, fixing, tweaking, rigging and compromising then go with the Mini Titan :flamesuit
I don't like to badmouth any helis because most can be fixed with the right setup and tweaking but I have spent way too much time trying to get this heli running right for longer than 20-30 flights with very little success. I bought the heli the first week it came out and it has never been wrecked. After spending another weekend taking the head apart, gluing again and double checking everything, I think I had 5 good flights before my tracking problems started again :bomb:
There are many people that love the Mini Titan, but buy it at your own risk. My Trex is up to ~600 flights and is flying great. I have never had problems like I do with the MT. When the MT is tracking it does fly very well... I just can't keep it tracking for any signifigant amount of time.

Thank you so much man, Very good explanation and sharing experience.
Ok, I have about $250 max to buy my first heli, what do you advice me to buy? Please keep in mind that it should has these requirements:
1- 6 channels, 7 ch preferred strongly.
2- Brushless Motor
3- 100% RTF
4- High Torque Servos
Also, you might advice me to go to more features and specifications!!
Please have look in this reply because I really started to feel fad up of heli’s world :dontknow

For that price I would get a sim. Its not near as much fun as a real heli though, but it definately helps when you start flying one. I learned without one, but after learning to fly I bought one and it has helped me advance. Many people that start with the sim move much faster than I did in the beginning.
There is no good heli you can buy for that price with the options you listed. The closest you could get is a Blade Pro. There are a lot of mixed opinions on the Blade. I like mine, but you have to take the time to make sure its set up right and you can't rush learning with it or you will just become frustrated. If you take your time with it, its a great little heli for the price. Just don't expect a 250.00 Blade to be comparable to a 1000.00 Trex.

Thank you for reply,
I have seen some nice heli in this rang like Dragonus II N-PLUS & Walkera Dragonfly 60, and I really like them so much ;)
What do think of these helis to start flying and training?

I've heard good things about the Dragonous and a lot of bad things about Walkeras, but without any personal experience I can't give any advice on either of them :dontknow
Which Dragonous package are you looking at? I thought these were in the same price range as a Trex when fully equipped.

I've seen the Dragonus in videos and I've watched the build vids on this site, but I haven't seen one in person or flown it so I can't really comment on how it compares to the Trex.

With the standard woodies I never had a tracking problem.
This is how this heli was developed i guess, with the original blades.
Once you mount T-rex or carbon blades the tracking problems can start showing up.
I think the spacers we use are not good.
The new ones as shown in the thread in the TT electric section look very promising imo.
Also people who upgraded to full metal and carbon blades seem to have no tracking problems.
You have to judge a design in a fair way imo.
Out of the box it proved to be very cheap and very good compared to any Trex.
The Trex450SE is a fantastic heli, but 3x the cost of a standard MiniTitan.
Not to defend anything, just my two cents

i can not speak for the dragonus but i do have a mini-titan and also a t-rex450se and i can tell you i fly my t-rex way more than the titan. i bought mine the week it came out and at first was very happy, but like funky says there are a lot of issues with the m-t now they are starting to put out a lot of metal upgrades wich will help but they are all at extra cost.the rexSE i have seems to be much more dependable and unless you crash it only needs normal upkeep to keep it flying well plus the rex has many more posabilaties available this is what mine looks like now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tOXVAp9Tdg

I didn't have any problems with the stock blades either. I think they are so thick you couldn't get them out of track if you wanted to  ..... But try flipping the heli with them compared to a set of any other blades. They cut the roll rate in half and cook batteries. I don't think they are good for anything but hovering/FF and much more appropriate stirring a can of paint.
I'm not comparing the Mini Titan to an SE, I'll compare it with my plastic XL. Besides crashing it, I haven't had to do a single "fix" to my XL and it flips/rolls/loops and tracks perfect... and thats with the old style frame. The new SA frame setup would be even better for the same price.
I don't mean to be so against the MT, its just after spending so much time with all of these "fixes" it still goes in and out of track with just about every flip. I wanted to fly it on the 4th but even after taking it back apart, double checking everything and gluing it back together I still couldn't enjoy it. My Rex has a split tail boom, no supports on the tail wire and half of a broken 9650 case and I still flew it all weekend long without any problems. My MT started "woofing" so loud after a flip from going out of track that I was afraid to keep flying it :arggg:
Eventually I will try the metal head and hopefully it will finally fix the tracking problems, but for now I am very frustrated with it so its staying on the shelf for a while. Its really too bad. When it is tracking good, its a great flyer... but I don't want to tweak, I want to fly.

its funny you guys mention that, i did not start having tracking problems till i switched blades also but i just thought it was me. also after many flights all of a sudden i lost tail response managed to land it safely and found the pinion gear just stripped right out, have since replaced with metal pinion, but i dont do any fancy flying just mild hovering and figure 8 stuff. dont really think it should have stripped that easy.

Good luck with your new heli, as for the MT it is a good starter heli i love mine, it flys great, with all the metal upgrades that people do with the t-rex i think the MT will do just as well. Just my 2 cents

Hey guys!
I too just ordered the Dragonus II plus from Hobby-Lobby. Bob's videos are great on setup, so we'll see how the build goes. Watch Hobby-Lobby's extras though. Expensive "you need" items.

You do realize that to totally start out with the Dragonus, you also need radio, electronics and battery etc. as shown in the full kit at HobbyLobby. Much more than $250.
You could get an Honeybee King2, Falcon 3D.or BeltCP including radio with that, or even a Blade CX2 which ain't 3D, but easy to fly and helps you learn basic controls and orientation. :smokin:

For your money you want transmitter and receiver and gyro and servos too?
And brushless motor? and battery? How about charger?
I went with this.
http://www.rchelicoptershop.com/catalog/esky-honey-bee-king-helicopter-p-53.html
ESky Honey Bee King V2.
The tail is belt drivin and it has everything you need except for the brushless motor.
You will get many flights from the stock motor and when you finally kill it you can buy a brushless motor and brushless ESC for about $50.00 as I have done.

CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW HELI!!!! I have heard awesome things about the Dragonus! Can't wait for a full flight report.
My Mini-Titan has NO tracking issues because I used the metal upper & lower mixing levers. I fly it 3 times a day hard and fast and wouldn't have anything else in it's size.
Now Funky you asked for what I'm about to say my friend. I respect your feelings and such but I SPECIFICALLY told you what to do to get it flying without tracking issues and you have done nothing about it but let it sit on a shelf. So at this point it's Funky's fault it still doesn't track right. $28 and 10 minutes of your time and the problem would be fixed......
Funky I'm exspecting to hear a report from you soon after you put metal mixing levers & new style blade grips on and tell us WOW! Lith was right! My heli tracks great now, even when I bang the sticks!
