Hi all,
I have recieved some PM's regarding swash numbers for V-bar on the G4 and E720.
I have tried a few different combinations and i have found these work the best.
In the swash tab, select the doctors hat to create your own swash.
For the Angle you want to type these numbers in:
CH1 = 270
CH2 = 135
CH3 = 45
CH4 = 0
And for the Distance:
CH1 = 70
CH2 = 99
CH3 = 99
CH4 = 0
Cheers!

What is your swash gain setting?, I get severe pitching issues at 2200 headspeed thinking to lower swash gain, it's fine on 3d and smacking around but as soon I wanna do some speed passes it's terrible.

Yea mine aint to good at high speed either. I dont fly at high speed in FFF very often though. I find it getts pretty bad in wind conditions. On a calm day i can go quite fast without too much trouble.

Thanks, ok i'll check if i can find a better setting, i also dont fly fast quite often, using the tdr for that, but still feel there is room for improvement, i suspect too high gain as i'm running similar to the tdr but at much higher headspeed. Will post my result

This is what klaus had said to this question sometime ago I asked....same concern, different numbers then yourself however...? Not by much but abit..

and it's a 135° swash with unequal distance, channel 2+3 (roll servos) have the same, back servo is shorter. My VBar settings, channel 1 back servo, servo 2 left roll servo and servo 3 right roll servo (viewing direction from behind to the nose)...
CH1: 270 distance: 72
CH2: 135 distance: 100
CH3: 45 distance: 100
swash down when positive pitch

Shawn i'm using Klaus's setting, seems to work well, i reduced gain, pitchiness is all but gone, you being a vbar specialist will probably find some inetersting numbers!
All you need now is to go out and get it!

yes, yes i know :)
I must find something to amuse me till next fall anyhow? :D

What gain did you end up with to reduce the pitching in FFF?

I am also having pitching issues, vbar gain is at 47 now. The E720 flies great other than the pitching,
any ideas?

I have Nick Maxwells settings.
I'll post them later
For Speed runs my gain is 49 at 2200 and for 3d at 1950 its 56

ch1 270* 72 distance
ch2 150* 100 distance
ch3 30* 100 distance
ch4 0* 0 distance
This was the settings i got from nick.
For me my gain seem to vary alot depending on the governor i was using.
I had to lower it alot more with my helijive to avoid pitching on speed runs,
vbar gov seemed to work better for me for speed runs.
Using rail blades 716's
But im sure there is many other things that influence pitching etc

those numbers worked, most pitching gone thanks.

Wonder how they got to those numbers, was it trial and error?

I personally got mine verified by Ulrich as well 140 is not common. As to exact math not sure but I provided him the Measurements of swash and servo distances etc... I asked if they could implement 140 config a into vbar selections but there are not enough models to warrant it overall I guess. TT just needs to go 120 but that's another discussion really.

Ok tried Nick's settings, dont know how he got to it but wow what a difference, always liked the rappy but now pitching completely gone, the only drawback now sorted, just sublime!
I saw on the bench the difference in geometry compared to the previous setting gave less movement of swash but different to cyclic ring so most probably the secret

So you now converting back to VBar?:D

Read my signature, unlike you i'm not biased towards any specific brand, i use what i think works best for the application, btw if i were to buy today not using vbar gov it would be beast, sorry to burst your bubble

Stolla are those Nick Maxwells settings, if they are do you know all his vbar settings or have a vbar file.

What i got from Phil, apparently Nik's, nothing else sorry. Only thing of note is lower cyclic gain than usual. I would like to have his file for sure, even if only to compare as mine is really good now. I read somewhere Nik flies low pitch+-11, dunno if its true

I got a hold of him on facebook he said he would share it if I wanted but he must not reply to private messages their as I only get response if I post on his wall and don't really want to post my email so everyone can see.
Here's what his response to my post was though.
Hey Troy no problem. As for the swash you want:
270/135/45
72/100/100
As for pitch, the model is a bit lighter than the Trex 700e, and also I think it has similar grip bolt to grip bolt distance. It might be slightly "lighter" feeling on the collective pitch, but I'd still run 13 if your used to that. If it feels like its too responsive back it down, but you motor, etc wont load up any different.
As for cyclic, yup, to get the right amount of cyclic use whatever numbers are needed. Mine were at 120 as well on "cyclic measure" to get 10 degrees cyclic. Collective just set to whatever 13 degrees is. It is within VBars range.
I've used the vbar gov with scorpion escs but not the castle. I had no issues using the internal gov on castle.
Gain set to 6
Timing set to low
Pwm set to 16
I love the way the model feels at 1960. I don't know what it is, but the gear sound, tail noise, and feel is just super linear and neutral there.
As for the tail slider, yup, no problem just set it where it need, somewhere in the numbers you mentioned is fine.
If you are interested I'd be happy to send you a vbar file from one of my models. Only thing it won't have a gov setup in it as I was previously using internal govs.

Weird, thats different swash settings than posted by Phil, anyway worked for me.

ooo seems one of my e720s is
270/135/45
72/100/100
the same as nicks settings, checked my email and vbar file from nick, to comfirm
The settings i posted before were actually of my G4
270/150/30
72/100/100,
And i guess i had typed the numbers in wrong,
Thinking about it the one of my G4 does have a suttle difference in pirouetting, i feel like the E720 with nicks settings pirouettes slightly nicer
I might change it just to see, Other than the pirouetting they fly exactly the same.
