Hi, I am intending to change my receiver pack to Lipo battery and was puzzled what capacity to use. Intend to use all digital servos for my raptor 50. Anyone can advice? a 1320 Mah TP 2S or 2100Mah TP 2S setup?
And how many flight can the battery last? thanks

Hey vintcs77,
How's the weather on that side of the world. :?:
Here are my thoughts on reciever batteries for the Rap. 50
I have a Raptor Titan 50. I running a litheium-ion 7 + volt battery (Fromeco )
With 5 volt regulator. Useing Hitec 5625 servos if I recall correctly.
I have so many planes and heli's I sometimes cannot remember what servos
are where. Useing a Logictech 6100 gyro and servo package. Turning 620
Mavrick carbon blades. Flight times are around 12 to 15 minutes.
So far I'm at around 10 flights with this set up. In checking voltage
could probably do more. But that's enough for me. Then pull out the
Veloci Raptor 90. It has the sameset up but useing a 6 volt regulator. Getting 8 to 10 flights, In checking voltage
probably could get a few more before having to charge.
As to Lithieum polymer: I haven't used them for receiver packs other than in my Trex-450 SE. With a 2100, 20c battery the flights run from 10 to 12 minutes.
So that tell's me a lot about useing a 2100 mah battery for digital
servos and potential number of flights before recharge.
I hope this may give you some guidance on your selections.
Check out the batteries forum for others thoughts on battery selection as well.
Regards :D

This is what I am running in my Raptor 50.
I was originally intended for a Raptor 90.
I put 2 2s 4000mah packs in parallel with an Arizona Reg.
It works out to be the same weight as a L-ion 4200 pack and reg. I am only using about 285ma per flight.
So 14 flights max. But what is nice is that you can recharge pack from low to full in an hour.
I suppose that I could split the pack and just swap it when it is low.

2100 mah probably not more then 4 flights.---
I am using the Align 6a BEC [24 dollars] and 4000 Mah lipo 2s [Cheap homemade ones from single cell leftovers from crashes. ] After 7 flights I recharge though the indicator says I could go for more flights I don't push it. Only an hour and a half to charge. Carry a spair :)
Raptor Titan Hyper 50 with all Digitals and a 401 Gyro plus a RevMax Throttle Jockey.

fwiw, some guys in giant scale planks are using 2s a123 packs for rx...no regulator...i use a 3s 2100mah lipo w/ 6v regulator on my giant plank (all sx's can take 6v)...one of my raptors runs on 2s 2100 lipo with this regulator...

using a 2s a123 pack would be a lot cheaper!
