View Full Version : Monthly funfly in Tampa!

We are having a monthly heli funfly the 2nd Sunday of every month starting July15. It will be at the Baycityflyers Linebaugh site in West Tampa. Fees are $5.00 and AMA proof required. Nothing formal, just come have a good time and get plenty of flying. I've been getting some great feedback from all the local pilots.
Bert Kammerer from Miniature Aircraft and other good local pilots will be attending. This is for everyone from beginners to experienced flyers.
If you never flown a heli I will have a buddy box setup. Let me just say that one out of every four people that I have taken up for a flight have gotten hook. Its great to pass on this great disease (hobby).

Nice showing today. That 600 Nitro T-rex was awesome although I am sure most of that was the pilot. See ya all next month

I would like to thanks everyone for coming out and supporting the event. We had a nice turn out for being the first monthly event a lot of good pilots. Special thanks to Bert Kammerer , Pete and Craig for coming out and putting on some great 3d flying.

We will get some more next time. Even the JAX boys will have to come.
Thank you guys. You just can't beat a big space, small crowd and good weather with the sun at your back.
Next time if anyone can't find the place, just park on the side of the road and put a heli on your roof...it worked for me to get assistance in less than 30 seconds. :shock: :shock: :shock: Just put it back inside before you take off, eh?

Sorry I missed it, I would come to the next one but that is the same weekend as IRCHA. Glad to hear it went well as we are now a bit closer!
Who's flying next weekend in Orlando????????????
Don't forget that next weekend 8/12/07. Last month was great next Sunday should be just as fun. I hope to see everyone out there.

You mean 8/12. But most of the big dog pilots will be at IRCHA.
I will send a message tot the Mulberry crew to see if any of them will come.

As Rodney said most of us will be at IRCHA, There are also other events the 2nd weekend in September, October and November that most will be attending as well.
Everyone going to IRCHA I hope you have good time, (I wish I was going).
If you are not going to IRCHA I hope you can make it to the fun fly.

I sure as hell wish I was there so I could go, but I am stuck here in Kuwait for another 4 months, wont be back until after the new year.
I like the Baycity fliers, good fields, and love the overhead covers.

It was a lot of fun, ErichF got some grass stuck on the top of his blades wile making crop circles. And Pete from Miniature Aircraft put on a great show. I hope that more people can make it out next time.

Im sure attendance was low due to Ircha. There were alot of floirda folks there including myself.

If flying at a great field and hanging out with new and old friends isn't enough. I will be providing free drinks(water and gatorade) to all the pilots.
