I've been flying/crashing helis for almost 2 months now, but I feel I have a good grasp of the hobby that I'd like to share with other newbies.

If you're looking at your first heli in a hobby store, DROP IT!!! Turn and run, run like the wind and consider yourself saved. If you've already bought one and can't return it read on. The following is my understanding of what is in store for you from this point on. Enjoy and keep flying!!!!

12 Step RC Helicopter Lifelong coping stategy:

1. We admitted we were powerless over helis-that our parts orders had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore stability to our hover.

3. Made a decision to turn our helis over to someone capable of getting it trimmed, finally.

4. Made a fearless search of everyone's inventories for parts to fix said heli.

5. Admitted to ourselves and others what we did wrong or didn't do right to cause our crash.

6. Were ready to have our heli guru fix all our mistakes made assembling our heli.

7. Humbly asked him to make said fixes.

8. Made a list of all other helis we crashed, ours or other's, and were willing to help repair them all.

9. Made said repairs except when to do so would cause other needed repairs.

10. Continued to keep up our inventory of parts and were willing to restock when told to do so.

11. Continued to seek out, through club association and internet forum discussions, more advanced flight manuvers and the batteries with power enough to do them.

12. Having aquired sucessful flight through applying suggestions from our heli buddies, became willing to drag someone else's credit to the brink by introducing them to our new found, lifelong addiction to helis.

Welcome to the club!!

Hey kreeper..

Lived in Clermont for four years. Beware the verticle winds of emmense speeds.
:fly

Finally got my Ave CP flying. Crashed 5 times with no damage before I realised I was doing it without my training gear. But the flights were controlled enough to keep it intact and in one piece even. I owe my many hours of sim time to my no damage experience. I just hope I get to use all the parts I have in inventory.
:woohoo

Those little helis don't like wind very much. My blade cp pro is very hard to control unless you're inside somewhere and even then it's touchy as hell. Without practicing on my fs one simulator I think I would still be hovering without the balls to take that first step into forward flight. An irreplacable tool it is! :smokin:
