Dear rick m.
What do you mean the 'all head screws'?
Screws of all head parts?
Plz specify...

Hi,
Just put on the blade grip spacers and align wooden blades, tracking went out.
Well actually it starts out find and then seems to "slip" out.
Any ideas?

Have you checked to see if the blades are balanced ?

Hi,
Well I did'nt balance them as good I could.
Will that really make a difference?

Hi,
Balanced a new set (align 325 pro blades) problem still there.
Help.

Hi andersminit,
how did you shorten the blade grips?
Thanx

Are you using the stock dampers in the head ? if so remove them and give them a good squishing with a pair of pliers but use a cloth to prevent them from ripping or tearing then re-install and lube them well with silicone or such like.

Hi andersminit,

I tried this, didn't help much but if you want to do it just cut 4mm off the lever part of the blade grip where the ball screws into.

Yes I am using the stock dampers.
I give them a good squishing and used silicone like you said.
Seems to be fine now. will do a better test when the wind drops!
Thanx for your help.

So after a bit of reading on the forums I decided to try a set of carbon blades to test the difference, hoping for a bit more flight time and cooler running Titan.
Running a stock kit at this time still, so absolutely no changes.
Balanced the new blades, fit the TT spacers and tried it out. With throttle below 50% tracking is fine, as soon as you go higher, she just goes way out. No matter what I try I cannot get them to track...
Is the answer to change over to metal parts? Or has someone found a better solution lately?

Hi,
Are the links 2nd from the top the same length?
I used a caliper to check and fix mine.

Hey, yeah all links are same length :( Woodies track perfect, just any CF blades are out when you try them. Tried the Align ones as well, same thing :( Tracks below 1/2 throttle, above that it just goes warped.

Seems the new thinking is to change the mixer arms for ally ones which apparently solves it.

Also make sure you have the newer plastic blade girps. (if using plastic)

Currently have the standard blade grips, wasn't aware of there being new ones out?
Also when you say mixing arms, is that the two at the top or the bottom?

Shortening the bladegrip arms with 3-4 mm makes sense on the old-style grips.
The top mixing arms have the most influence on the tracking of the blades i think.
These steer the main blade pitch angle (high force), the lower ones steer the paddle bar.

Here a pic of the old and new grip. New one on the left.

Don't bother shortening the blade grips, it doesn't work.

Looks like I have the old style still then :)
Hoping that the LHS is open tomorrow morning at least, who thought of this silly holiday thing anyway?!?!
Can you run the new metal blade grips on the plastic head?

I agree with Fixxer, did nothing for me as well. Still trying to track the Align Pro and Hyperion carbon's.
Thanks

Try this then. I don't know why so many have tracking problems, when others don't. When I switched to my align blades, I just re-tracked them the way you normally do it and everything was fine. Try this if you still have tracking issues. I have the old grips with no problems, I didn't even need metal arms. I have the align 3k white carbon fiber blades. Just read aways down in this thread and you'll see how to maybe fix your problem.

Hi All,
Now I know why the tracking in mine is off again on again. I will try the slick 50 trick on the dampers as for blade grip spacers I found that the stock Radix spacers with the addition of .002" shim brass took up the slack in the grip quite nicely.

Mattyusk2002, if you are referring to the part where you check the lines of the blade holders, then no. That didn't work for me.
My original woodies (Thunder Tiger) track 100%, nothing needed. Just as I fit the carbon blades then the tracking starts to go. Heading off to the LHS now, hoping that they have some of the metals parts in stock!

Ok managed to get a set of metal rotor grips and metal flybar C. levers. No Mixing levers available and the only store that sells the Trex parts was somewhat rude. Will wait to see when my friendly store gets them though.
Tracking is MUCH better now, a very small bit out but nothing that the adjustments can fix :(
Also what is the difference between the spacing on the ball links on the flybar c lever? Inside for beginner and outside for non, but what does it actually do?

The outer holes of the lower mixing arms make your titan react MUCH faster to cyclic responses for flips, loops, tic-tocs, etc. If you talk to some people, they say there's not much difference, thats fine, but I full heartedly disagree. Move the balls to the outside and see for yourself! The heli is a little less stable when you do this, and your tracking may become more of an issue when you do this. I was fine when I had plastic, but I switched all my mixing arms to metal. Gforce on top, and TT on lower. As far as I know, Thunder Tiger is the only one who makes LOWER mixing arms. Yeah, you can use the trex ones instead, but then you're decreasing your cyclic response (not by much, but it was noticeable to me, thats why TT let you adjust it in the first place). Move the balls out and learn to fly like this. You probably wont be able to find lower metal mixing arms in the states unless you get them from infinity-hobby.com, like I did. S and H is 22 dollars because it's overseas, but you wont regret it, just buy a bunch of parts at once (parts are WAY cheap from here!), the lower metal mixing arms are nice! An awesome setup you should try is gforce arms ontop, TT arms on bottom, and Gforce tuner head(I LOVE mine), that's all you need, I still use the plastic flybar cage, and grips(I have metal grips and gforce flybar cage, but like things as they are now). Off topic, if you're still using 3s I would recommend the cc35 esc and jgf 450th on a 15t pinion. Flight times and power are noticeably increased while temperatures are decreased (even though this setup has a slightly lower headspead than the stock on a 13t pinion). Sorry for the long response, I love my mini titan, if you need anything else, pm me.

Thanks a mil Matt :)
Went to our local velodrome for some flying, tracking was spot on with the ball links moved to the outside! So looking good!! I've got the TT metal lower arms with the plastic ones on top, will change to others when I can get them. Probably look at importing them (South Africa here).
I've got about 8 and half minutes flight time now and the motor isn't overheating anymore. Hot to touch but not scorching anymore! I'm quite happy with the results :D
Still running the stock outrunner motor and ACE ESC that I got in the kit, if they decide to go, then I'll have a look at those you mentioned :)
Getting better at the hovering thing, just need to learn orientation from different angles and get a bit more confidence, then I can remove the training gear! :D
On a side note, when giving cyclic input (throttle is around 50%) do you notice the heli lose altitude? Mine drops from about 1m to around 30cm then slowly climb again. I can get some control on this while playing with the throttle though, so it might just be me that need to learn to USE the throttle :)
