Here's what I have set:

DS is set to "on"
DIR is set to "rev"
Limit - based on the travel of the slide for the rear rudder
Delay = 0
I've set the switch in the transmitter so the LED is solid red indicating AVCS mode

on my DX7 transmitter

Gyro sens - Rate = 72
Revo mix 0%

I reversed the gyro setting so that when I turn the rudder to the left and when i move the tale boom to the left, the rudders turn the same direction each time.(this was opposite) Per Mercuriell's advice

MY NEW PROB (actually I had this happening on my last post :arggg:)

when i turn the rudder stick on the transmitter to either the right or the left, the rudder moves very slowly, I'd say 1/2 to 1/3 the speed of my trex450, so as i gas up the bird, the gyro hunts with the increase rpm it will start to turn and basically i have again no control and the bird starts to spin like crazy.

I'm going to recheck all the lengths on the push rods and make sure that the sub trim has the servo at 90 degrees (despite a little hunting)

any ideas?

thanks a bunch

Jon

i had this problem on my 450, make sure you have the gyro gain pluged into the right port on the rx. if you have it set for gyro under AUX2 then make sure its in AUX2. mine would hunt and loose control until i found the problem.

What servos are you using ? - How have you set up the gyro on the DX7 have you put it to auto or to a gain switch and have you set the gain lead from the gyro into the Rx as a gain channel ? What gain settings have you dialed in ?

Servos: Futaba S9252
Gyro Input Select (tx)= Aux 2
Gyro Sensitivity = Auto
Rate = 72
F. Mode norm, stnt and hold all = 0

I increased the travel adjust to 100% and then lowered right and left directions to 90% each and now have a much faster rudder movement.

I'm still dealing with when i increase throttle the rudder doesn't stay in it's neutral position. I just tried it a few minutes ago and the bird starting turning right, i turn the rudder stick to the left and the rudder didn't respond.

I'm going to re-read the 401 setup in the meantime any further suggestions for the "noob"

thanks

Jon

Thats revo mix.

Also what are the end points on the rudder channel in the radio?

http://www.raptortechnique.com has a setup guide for that radio and the 401, it should work the same way or close to it on the TRex.
