I sent this to Spartan-rc's help ticket site, but no reply. So I'll post my question here:
heli setup: XlProII standard swash
Radio: Futaba 14mz
Question1:
When i hook up the Ap2000, S-3 swash setting, Aileron does not work. I tried all the swash settings in the AP2000 and restarted after each change. Out of all the swash settings, the S-3 fits more than others except for the Aileron not moving.
Question2:
How do I hook up the Vision lock with a Gy501 Gyro for the tilt of the camera platform? Even with endpoints set all the way, I still only get 90 deg or less travel. Even on my second Visionlock that handles pan on the camera rig only gets 90. The instructions say to crank up the gain; I did.

I don't know which swashplate that heli has and can't seem to find a pic of it online.
In any case, have you completed the steps described here?

I haven't installed a VisionLock so I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you on that one.

What should be the swash setting on the Ap2000 for The XLProII?
It is not a CCPM/120 swash.

I'd gladly try to assist but I need to know which swashplate it has. Can you provide a pic?

go to www.ronlund.com
select plans from the menu on the left
select XL pro 1

The swash on the XL Pro is just a standard 4 point 90 deg mechanical swashplate.
One servo moves the swash up and down for collective
One servo moves it fore and aft
One servo moves it left and right.

Swashplate type = S1
Aileron servo in Servo slot #1
Elevator servo in Servo slot #2
Collective servo in Servo slot #3

no dice.
left/right movement on cyclic does not move any servo; it should move elevator. Pitch/throttle stick DOES move the elevator.
If I place the servo leads back into the Rx all movement is fine, but no AP2000. :arggg:
Tx channels are:
ch1: AIL
ch2: ELEV
ch3: collective
ch4: rudder
ch5: throttle
ch6: gyro

OK found the issue.
Since no servo 4 used, the supplied JR patch cables were plugged in one slot off from where they are supposed to be.
No all servos move fine with AP2000.
Now for calibrating and tuning.
Any tips?

For tuning, do all your adjustments for throws/endpoints within the AP2000i menu.
I don't have any programming suggestions for the 14MZ. No one using a 14MZ has provided me with their program setup, as of yet. Personally, I prefer to keep it simple on my tx whenever possible. On my 9C, I've assigned the AP2000i gain channel to a slider. For the calibration feature, I made a program mix that's assigned to a switch. When the slider is at the "OFF" position, flipping the switch inputs an offset to the gain channel. I've got screen shots of this in my gallery. Maybe it will assist you with the program mix in your 14MZ.

I see from your gallery that your 4th servo input into your Ap2000 does not a middle wire and the end wire is Yellow.
What's up wit that?
please elaborate...

Actually, that would be the 4th servo output from the ap2000.
It is his gyro gain. If your swash only uses 3 servos, then you can use the 4th servo output to control your gyro gain and free up a channel on your Rx.
Use Trim 4 in the ap2000i menus to set the gain for your gyro.
If you do this, then take a spare servo with servo arm on it, and plug it into your Rx gyro gain output. Mark where the servo arm moves to.
Then stick the same spare servo into your servo output 4 in on the ap2000i and adjust trim 4 until the servo arm moves to the same place. Now you know you will have the same gyro gain you had on your Rx.
You need to do this as for example 62% gyro gain on your Tx does not equal 62% trim on the ap2000i.
