Hi,
Just completed the assembley of the Nitro as per ther manual and was shocked to find that there is binding at the lower end on the pitch.
Any suggestions????

Make sure you have the swash plate at mid travel with the collective mid stick (trims at 0 and all linkages 90 degrees etc) - if it is binding at extremes you have to reduce the pitch % on your swash menu.

The lengths listed in the manual are wrong. If you build using them the swash will hit the bearing block at full negative/full back elevator.

With great names like Jason Krause being associated one does not expect such poor guidelines. The manufacturers should realize that most of us noobs refer to the manual for every step of assembley.
I agree with Gscot. The linkage rods are all wrong. By adjusting the pitch % on the swash menu will not take care of the binding.
As suggested by Harry (from thetrexforums.com) works but you get +-10% but atleast it does not bind.
Did send 6 mails to JK asking him about his link lengths, still awaiting a reply.
Thanks, Rajeev

In all honesty - if you're not comfortable setting up the swash and linkages then maybe the 600 is not the right helicopter for you unless you have good local help - I was pretty shocked on the w/e to find a 'noob' with his brand new 600N all ready set up and he didn't know which switch on the trannie controlled his gyro and didn't have the faintest idea about curves - these are not 'out-of-the-box' flying toys and if you have to do it by yourself you need to spend a huge amount of time in research - particularly watching Bob's videos.

How many degrees collective and cyclic are you getting the binding with?
I have my links very close to stock recomended lengths and I am getting + - 11 degrees collective and 7 degrees on cyclic and have no binding.

With the throttle stick pulled down to the lowest end the swash plate is virtually sitting on the upper bearing block. :dontknow
I followed the instructions very very carefully and extra careful with the link lengths. In another forum thetrexforums.com a few of the pilots also agree that the legths are wrong. They too are facing the same problem.

The recommended lengths were pretty close for me. I had to change them slightly, but not by much. I don't know exactly what they ended up being, but I can get +/- 14 if I want to with binding on the collar or washout block. With full positive pitch and cyclic, however, the pins on the washout block will contact my swash. At +13 they will still hit with full cyclic throws. I'm sure I can work around it, but I haven't had the time of late. It' very rare to be at full pitch and full cyclic anyways.

The link lengths listed in the manual that go to the swash are wrong. If you built a 600e you will notice that they used the same length listed in both manuals. However on the nitro the levers (all 3) sit lower in the frame so if you go by the length in the manual your swash will be siting to low and you will bind on full negative and you will not be able to get full collective pitch range of +-14.
I forgot how much I had to go out on all 3 it was a couple of turns out. The key is to make sure you get the swash set centered, then you can work on the rest of the links. I did find the links from the washout arms to the flybar cage to be right. However you will find that u need to adjust the the links from the swash to the mixing arms and the pitch links too, since the swash will be sitting higher and to get everything level.
Thanks
