Am I expecting too much?I know I can redrill the hole but it will be right next to the existing hole and weaken the boom near the tail case. todd

I'm curious to know just what heli that is. On my Hawk & Predator the tail boom has holes on both ends. Both sets of holes are parallel to each other so the tail case lines up perpendicular to the frame.
If your holes are off and you decide to redrill, I'd drill both ends so you could line it up properly. For myself, I would not drill anything. I would either buy a replacement tail boom and try and return the defective one. Or if I had to modify anything, I'd modify the tail gear case by removing the circular protrusion that fits in the hole on the tail boom and use friction to hold the tail gear case in place.

It is a Swift 550.The tailcase has a bolt through the boom in between the bottom and top of the belt.Front of the boom is slotted to fit the transmission case.I'll take your suggestion and modify the front where four bolts will tighten for a friction fit.Ill add a new boom to my order also.
