View Full Version : Any Spray on tail belt ?
Hi all .
Any one running any spray, like silicon spray as with the Trex 450 on tail belts of your leptons ?
I just wondered if it may be of benefit to flight times ?
Or is this more likely to cause a problem with the Lepton belt ?
Just a thought , anyone tried it ?
Cheers
Jason.

I would be interested in an answer, too. Does the spray harm any parts like the gears? And does it really allow smoother and longer flying?
Thanks,
John
I thought the spray was party to reduce drag
and partly to avoid the possibility of static charge buildup
I have been meaning to try it - maybe this weekend
Let us know how it goes Jafa . My only concern is that it may even make the belt slip due to the lepton having to have the belt quiet tight ?
Looking at the teeth on the Lepton belt , it also appears to be more of a round section tooth than the likes of a Trex belt which appears more of a square section type tooth belt .
Anyway , be great to hear how it goes .
Cheers
Jason .
Well, I flew the Lepton, then sprayed the belt and flew agian
I can't tell the difference - certainly did not hurt at all

Thanks, Jafa, for sharing your experiences. What spray did you use?
Cool, thanks for letting us know .
Jason.
I used a general purpose silicon lubricant from an aerosol can
It used to make my TRex 450 tail smooth but I sold that heli

Yeah, absolutely Silicon is what to use (if you use anything, that is). It shouldn't hurt plastic or rubber, or anything.
I used just a little on mine when I first got it because it looked dry but I don't think it "needs" it, like the T-Rex 450 does. I swear by Silicon on the 450, as well as that bevelled metal gear on the tail output.
What spray did you use?
The spray that was recommended to me is called Graphit 33 ( see here (http://www.realraptors.co.uk/zen-cart-v1.1.3/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=58&products_id=902) ), I am using it on my Raptor after having some tail kicking issues, and on my Lepton too.

It's a spray of graphit to make the belt eletricity friendly. So no more discharges giving you tail rotor kicks or worse...

Thanks! I know Graphit 33 and I will buy a can. First I wanted to use simple silicon spray, but I think Graphit 33 is better regarding the elemination of static build up.

I have been using CRC silicon on my Lepton belt. You can get it at any autoparts store.
