View Full Version : Raptor 30 V2 Tail Problem...

One of the belt guides in the fuse on my Raptor broke so I replaced it and the tail belt (it was frayed) however now when I get enough headspeed to get light on the skids the tail spins out of control...I can give it enough rudder to counter but then it just starts spinning the other way! Any ideas? Is the belt too tight? Is the clutch shot? I was meticulous about the replacement since this was the first maintenance I have had to do to the heli but apparently I missed something... :arggg:

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

You probably twisted the belt the wrong way.

Make sure the tr is spinning the right way.

Thanks Andy!

Thank you very much. I will check that and see tonight. It is possible that I did but I was being so careful not to screw it up... Just for the record which is which? When looking at the tail it should rotate clockwise during normal hover?

If it hits the dirt it should throw debris towards the canopy.

Viewed from the RH side of the machine the tail rotor rotates counter clockwise.

The LE of the tail blade should rotate UP into the rotorwash.
