View Full Version : Keeping it real - with a DX7

I see some folks just keep their transmitter with all parameters in default positions.

Obviously the sim heli is mechanically perfect so all sub-trims and travels should be left at default.

But for a more realistic experience, which TX parameters is it advisable to change to your 'real flight' settings?

I'm using a DX7 - should I keep Swash mix type to normal?

I add expo were needed. Throttle curves and pitch curves for norm, stunt1 and stunt2 set up like my Trex 450 V2. Gyro set up exactly the same also. I fly the sim on the same flight model as the Trex! This flight model works for all the planks in Normal mode except for landing gear. A few times I flew the planks and could not figure out why I had no throttle control .... until I noticed I was in stunt mode. :arggg:

I do pretty much the same as Bob, but make a variant set up with exactly the same attributes as my model, turn off the governor (if you forget to idle up you know it), set up the head speed and piro rate the same.

if I enable swash mixing on dx7 it will not fly right at all.

I have to set it to normal. Also it seems the heli will constanctly dip down, regardless of what elevator trim I use.

s0laris ..... Make sure you calibrate the sim with your DX7 on an empty model slot with default settings .... then switch to your sim profile model with normal - 2 servos.

yes thats what I did and it works. but people were saying they used same profile as trex model and that wont work as it has 120 swash setup.

You are correct ....The swash setup is the only change required from a normal T-Rex set up on a Dx-7. Not all radios have the swash settings computerized so this is a way to standardize the model profiles so they work.
