View Full Version : Gaui 1100kv motor ?

Spotted this on the FH website. It's not the new Gaui motor is it?
It looks like the standard Gaui one to me, but seems to have the spec of the new motor, 1100kv etc. It looks too short & light to be a 1500w motor, the Z30 has a long body & weighs like 280g or whatever. There doesn't seem enough motor here to cope with 1.5kw going through it.
Have they had a website mixup or is this it? Has the standard motor part number & 8 bearings? Err, whats that like 4 each end
I hope no one has ordered one thinking it's the new motor if it is indeed a typo & it's the original motor...

May be 8 pole magnet?
1500W.....I guess 1500W means max. and not continuous. i.e. 0.01 sec. :glasses2:
For this size/weight motor ~800W .
IF you are after Z30, go for it. You will not be disappointed. Z30 can also be used in Trex 600 as well.

Hmm strange.
Maybe the are using the old picture.....
I have the motor like shown in that picture. It is different from the early version already because that one didnt have the brown color i think.

The new M1110 motor from Gaui is more then OK! Ok, its not a Z30, but its much much better then the old Gaui motor. Know you really can have a 3D machine out of the box. I got this motor with my new kits, and they also comes with the new Gaui HP gears. I am going to test these gears later today, with the Z30 and see if they hold up as promised.

Here are the new HP gears.

You should be able to tell which motor you have as the standard one with the 'brown' ends has a short shaft with just a short area ground flat for the pinion screw. The new one in Toms pic has a long shaft, like the very first motors that were all silver, it also has a big part of the shaft ground flat.
Full specs for the motor would be nice though Tom :)
Might be worth a try if it's just $67 for the new Gaui 1110kv.
Looks like FH used a pic of the old motor then?
Any other gears coming along in the new material, or just the 42t ?

Ahh...in that case I have the 980 Kv motor since my shaft are the short one..

My kit just flew in from Hong Kong to Mississippi. I ordered it on Thursday, it left Hong Kong on Friday and got to my house at 11AM today. I ordered the Motor-only kit from Subtrim.com and the motor has "bronze" end caps and the gear looks like the one in Tom Viper's pictures with the "OK" stamp on it.
Tom, what do I need to know about this motor?
I guess I waited JUST long enough to get what I was looking for.
Thanks guys for all your help,
Leo

lvseicsh,
Make sure your motor has the long shaft. The original motor that was all chrome had a long shaft. Version 2 had bronze coloring on it with a short shaft.
The new 1100Kv motor has bronze coloring but with a long shaft like the very first motors that were chrome, no coloring, with a long shaft.

Where you from in Mississippi? I am originally from Collins, about 60 miles south of Jackson. Mom still lives there and we visit at least six times a year.

Still looking for new motor dimensions.
Mine is bronze colored top and bottom with a "chrome" center. Overall length (including shaft) is 65.0mm. Shaft length is 17.25mm. Two machined flats on either side of the shaft for the pinion set screws. Is mine the old motor or the new 1100kv? I just got the kit a week or so ago. I'm hoping it's a later version.

This is the same as mine. I guess this is not the new version, cause the shaft is only 17mm. I got mine last week.

That's a link to the webpage I posted a picture of in the first post. I think they have just used a pic of the 'old' motor.
Toms pic clearly shows the new motor as having a longer shaft, large area ground flat for the pinion screw & also the motor has a longer body.
Clarification on the new motor's exact specs would be handy Tom :)

John any idea on the price of the new motor? How will it compare to the Z-Power Z30 motor? One more......will you be selling the new 75amp ESC?

i cannot officially comment on the 75amp yet, it was on its way, and they have made some changes to it, so i am waiting for the latest revision. As for the 1500W can, if you havent already seen the demo video of it at www.hurricane550.com, its pretty much cool to the touch after an intense workout. We are running the 75 amp prototype esc in that video as well...in terms of pricing for the 1500W motor, I am trying to get it here for you all at 89.95 including fan.

The M1110's motor housing is 53.7mm long, 41.1mm dia. Itīs a BIG improvement over the old Gaui motors. If it holds up to the Z30, no, it dosen't, Z30 is still king of the hill.
But, as we are selling this motor as stock in the Hurricane kits, with the new HP gears, you really can go a long way with it (as seen on the readyheli videos!). All for a very competetive price. (in the EU). It will still be cheaper for all you americanos to buy it from readyheli.
John: If you need some Z30īs , we do have them in stock and I could send you one if you would like.

I assume it's the new standard engine. I just got this from John at ReadyHeli in the past couple of weeks. The motor doesn't look like any I've seen posted here. It is all silver and has H/18/H on the top of the motor.
