i didnt know we had a choice on only one computer in which we can play the sim. what if i wanted to install the sim on my laptop, would that be illegal too? its not like im making a copy. my family is in california and i would like to play the sim without carrying around the laptop and controller when i go to visit.

You dont have a choice, if you install the software the interlink contains an eeprom that the software must see before it will run. If they sold separate controllers, for say 50 bucks, whats to stop you from burning the cd's and buying a 50 dollar controller?

You can legally install it on your laptop and desktop but since you only have one controller you can only run one at a time.

so if my controller broke my only option is to send it in for repair? you cant get replacement controllers anywhere?

You got it.

http://www.knifeedge.com is the software maker. I think one of the programmers hangs around here too.
