I was thinking about getting the KIT that HELIHOBBY.COM offers for the lepton.
http://helihobby.com/html/lepton_ex_helicopter.html
Others i am looking at are the
HDX 500 from helidirect (the none cnc verson coming out in a few weeks)
Hurricaine 550
LOGO 10
The thing i like about the Lepton is all the videos bob white put out on building one. I am new so those would help a ton of hlep im sure.
I jsut think the lepton might be a ways above my skill level. All i fly right now is a falcon 3d.
The logo 10 is a little bigger and cheaper and seems like it has a good track record.
Im just trying to weight my options. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers
The Falcon 3D is quite capable - how capable is your flying?
I have 5 helis - I'm still learning the four orientations (yet I can piroflip)
The Lepton is my fastest and almost my favourite heli
It's just a bit over priced for physically what it is
The Logo10 would have an advantage there,
but the Logo10 may require bigger batteries - more $$$
Can't say I have heard of anybody being dispointed with the performance of the Lepton
(once you get the tail sorted)

Well im just starting to get good at foward flight. Really im just looking for something to put together and pass the time over here.
Also the falcon 3d comes RTF. Ive crashed it hard once and pretty much had to rebuild everything on it (except for the mainframe). But i think i would learn a great deal about heli's by doing a kit. I'm not SOOO concerned about price. I own a DX7 already so a tx isnt a issue.
Ive heard a lot about the tail on the lepton. What did you do to "sort" it out. Ive heard of simple fixes such as align tail blades.. going as far as getting custom tail fins so they can put larger tail blades on.
Also on the 3s package i like the idea of using 2 x 2100's instead of one big ass Li-po.

Oh i forgot to mention that i can do foward flight ALL SIDES IN.... not super great or anything but, pretty good. Loops and figure 8's type stuff.
68mm tails from ReadyHeli fixed it for most people

But don't go the readyheli stretched vertical fin if thats the road you travel. It's not long enough for the carbon blades they sell...
I really love my Lepton - it's my first electric and it flies sweet! Not yet crashed but it sure looks like an expensive exercise. The Logo stuff looks nice and on 3s you can't beat a t-rex. So many choices...

I agree. The Lepton landing gear "squats" in the rear, which shrinks your tail rotor clearance even more. Instead of having the heli rest on the tail fin, get the MJP Lift Kit and it will give you plenty of clearance for those tail blades.
