Is Pitch set up mechanically or through computer? Or should I not worry about the comp mix and just set it up using pitch links and throttle poison? and wait untill I progress into 3D for computer mix/curves/etc?

Technically...Both...
You want to set your pitch up mechanicly before you do it in the TX. Basically to make everything linear...then you want to adjust the pitch in the radio to suit your learning or flying.

Bart is right. Leave your radio to defaults. Move the collective/throttle stick to mid stick. Setup your mechanical linkage to show 0 degrees and make everything 90 degrees to each other. Then use the computer radio to limit your pitch range to somewhere around +10 to - 10 in the idleups and and normal, or some people will tell you as a noob to run your normal pitch range something more like +10 to -4 or so. Either way you want the heli to be at 0 degrees at mid stick.
This question could ahve a lot of different answers.
