I have an older 600e. If I go with the DFC head what else do I need to order other than grips?

I put the elevator a arm on mine because the ar bracket looks stupid with that short shaft. Other than that, you'll need to make a custom main shaft, as there is no factory option for the length you will need. Mine was cut 20mm shorter, but I think 17mm would be better. The heli looks so much better with the dfc, and flies smooth as silk. You will love it!

Can the DFC heads be used on a 600 nitro?

You will have to cut your shaft if you want to use it on the nitro.
Or you can get longer links, and cannot use the A-arm with this option.

I found the DFC main shaft not reaching the 3rd bearing block on my ESP stretch.
Easiest solution was to cut down the standard main shaft that did fit and re drill the head bolt hole

Ordered up the DFC head with grips and the a-arm elevator. Let you guys know how it goes.

I got the a-arm upgrade as well. Can't seem to get it to work. Any ideas?

The elevator servo mounts on the outside of the frame with the plastic servo nuts used as spacers (with ds610 servo). I also used the 2 arm servo horn to allow for the links to clear during servo rotation. When you use a wheel, there will be some binding. As for mounting the a arm itself, I had Cascade do that part for me, so I don't know if there is a trick to getting it in there.

If your upgrading to the DFC head and you are not flying the 600E-pro;
Blade Grips
you need aligns newest metal blade grips, else you will need to purchase new blade grips.
Shaft
you will need to modify the shaft length. The shaft that comes with the kit is designed for the E-Pro, only. It will not work on the nitro as the shaft length and position of the locking collar(which is now part of the shaft) are different. The modification amounts to cutting off the top of the shaft. I used a grinder. Then drilling a new hole for the jesus bolt. I used a drill press. I found the material to be softer than I thought, and the grinding and drilling went rather quickly.
Shaft workaround
If you are using the anti-rotation bracket, or are willing to go back to using it. You can simply obtain longer links in order to make everything symmetrical while using your current main shaft.
You also need to change the swash ball links to the newer larger ball size to fit the included links with the DFC head.

I believe that the bigger ball links come with the kit. I know that my kit included them.
My kit had the plastic ball links but not the larger metal balls. Some folks have been using the original 600E/ESP swash balls and reaming the original plastic ball links. I would advise against that as the stress on the links may be too great. Order the new metal balls for the larger plastic ball links.

Thinking about it. I went from flybarless to DFC head. So the bigger metal balls where already there.
Good Point.
