View Full Version : Stratus Gear Ratio's

I'm going to order a Stratus soon and I'm not sure what is the best gear ratio. I see there are 4 to choose from, 7.75 7.91 8.18 8.45 , I'm looking for the most powerful 3D setup. I am planning on using the OS 91SZ-H PS-Hyper w/ pump unless there is a better choice? Also what pipe would you put with this engine?

OS should use the 8:18 ratio, and the Hatori pipe. SB18 is the pipe I believe.

Hi
The Os91SZ with Dual Viperhead and OMI BB Carborator with OMI Cline is a very good engine.....I run wthen with hatori 939 (That is a non US version pipe, and almost the same as the SB18)
Be sure your order your Stratus kit for the right engine...

if you really wana go with the stratus go with the new YS91SR along with 8:18 grear ratio or if there is 8:27 but if you really want a great flying bird go with the synergy i have both and the N9 is much better by far atleast the spare parts are much cheeper

Not trying to start a war.
But I have researched the parts prices. They must be a lot cheaper in Kuwait than they are here in the USA. From the parts prices I see posted on Rick's, I sure didn't see any prices that are much cheaper.

Note:
In Denmark the Synergy and Stratus parts as almost alike.
Some of the Stratus parts are cheaper then the Stratus and visa versa...
I think the flying difference Stratus/Synergy is more a question of setup and personal preferences...
Like have you ever tried adding flybarweights on your stratus so that the ´"paddelwieght" is the same as the Ø5 Synergy flybar?
and using longer flybar.....
etc.
