I am just doing some research on my next heli and the Raptor titan 50 is on the short list. I was just after a rough idea of what the average crash costs would be.
Thanks

Depends on what you break :D

When I had one, crashed it twice.
First crash cost me about $200
Second one only about $80

Well 600mm blades are going to cost you the same across the board.

Most tail booms and flybars are similar so it gets into what you actually break like grips, frames, skids, canopy, whatever.

Look up the cost of a crash kit for each of the models you are interested in, thats usually a boom, main and spindle shaft, flybar and cheap blades.

If crashing costs are your number #1 for buying a new heli, I would get a Trex SE until crashing isnt a problem any longer.

4 Raptor crashes would buy you a Nice SE and spare parts.

Just a thought.

i have a 450 se and am getting the crashing out of the system on that. I am just waying up all the factors in getting the right heli for me. I was going to get a big electric but batt prices are pushing me more towards nitro and at this point, after much thought the titan 50 is at the top of my list.
please keep the opinions coming though
thanx

Well if your reaching that point the titan is a great heli.

Big electric is expensive.... and you can't get as many flights unless you buy a bunch of packs.

You can use wood blades for quite a while, keeping the crash costs probably between 45-65$ for a while.

Then when you stop crashing, get carbons.

Wooden blades ar cool because of price :glasses2: - but :
1) you canīt reach big rpm on rotor head (when you starts, this wonīt be a problem)
2) but this is "a problem" I think - many of my friends have flown with wooden blades and each of them has the same problem - the cover (coating ... I donīt know which word to use - I am not a native speaker ... but perhaps, you know what I mean) of blade is stripping of !!
This could be fixed, if you crash soon :), but if you fly for a long while without any crash - you could reach this problem .... so think about it  .

( I post this experience of my friends, this is not mine experience :!: )

Besides the blades they are pretty cheap. The wreck below is pretty bad. Both frame sides, collective tray, blade grip, spindle, main shaft, flybar, both gears, a few bearings, tail boom and a few other items I am sure I forgot. Rebuild cost was around 90-100 bucks plus the Radix blades :(
