well it isnt really a mod. i got bored saw i had a set screw laying around, and a 2 size smaller drill bit. so i loaded up the drill bit, drill a hole through the frame then stuck the tail boom into the frame and continued to drill the hole through one side of the boom. then i screwed the set screw in it. it made its own threads. but holds very good. no more ca for me, no more replacing the frame after a broken boom. then i moved onto the tail motor mount. set the frame down with the front end hanging off the edge of a table. allowing the rear skid mount holes to sit on the table. so i could line up the tail motor mount to be inline with the frame.. then drill with the same sized drill bit. into the mount where the carbon stick was when you got your cpp stock.. then cut it off the mount. i drilled through the boom also on one side. then went offset another hole . so i could run 2 screw into the tail motor mount at different angle. it holds just as well as ca. ive been trying to pull it apart and it wont budge.. i will post up pics friday afternoon. it looks very very clean... also again no more replacing the frame for a stupid broken boom

Awesome mod!! Keeps from having to tear the frame up trying to replace a busted boom.

Nice, I'll have to do that too, I recently had to get a tail boom out, and actually did it without destroying the frame, but it was a pain in the butt.

remember once you find a setscrew. get one that isnt like super small but you need a drill bit that is big enough to make the hole with but leave it to where the threads have to cut into the plastic. i had to use a good amount of force to get it started

very cool tx. I had been thinking of drilling a small hole through the boom mount and boom than run a small screw through than use a nut to finish the job and perhaps add a little pressure on the boom. I got the FSBM before I ever put that idea in action.

its very hard.. even if you try drilling it odds are the hole will be off. it depends mainly on how you glued it in there.. try and use as little glue as you can in places that you can easly get at with debonder or what ever you use.. i did end up using some glue where the gyro mount is. i glued it to the boom. but i can take a knife or razer and get that apart...
