Got my 550 covered in powder sand and now it's everywhere :arggg:.
I can hear the sandy bearing getting scrached when i slowly rotate the blades. Also i think its causing my 550 to vibrate.
So how to get sand out of the main shaft bearing? :dontknow
What if i dont clean the main shaft bearings?

Maybe sealed bearings might be an option.

To be honest I think your bearings are trashed, once sand gets in its really hard to clean out and even if you do the damage to the balls and races is already done.
As above if sand is an issue then your looking at rubber shielded bearings but even then things like slide shafts are still vulnerable. Maybe fit a condom over the head and tail assembly's...

I'm guessing there is lots of sand in Kuwait. Order lots of bearings!

Boca Bearings is also another good place.
They have all types of sealed bearings at a range of prices.

You should try some 6800-2RS bearings on the mainshaft. These are probably the highest loaded bearings on the heli. Once dust gets in there, the bearing is toast. You can clean them but they won't ever be the same.
