Hello everyone. TheBum corrected me on a thread that I started regarding this event. I didn't realize you guys already had a thread on it. I should have known, however. My apologies. I look forward to the trip, though. I've already got the room reserved. See ya there.

You asked is there any flying while the main events are going on? YES, there will be flying probably starting Thursday but certainly there will be flying on Friday and Saturday and Sunday. All our contest are so far scheduled on a Saturday. We have a large field and the contest are only going to be on one end of the field. The auto contest will not even be on the main field but the auxillary field over to the side behind the main field and the Target drop will be on one end of the the main field. The Novice contest will probably be on the auxillary field over to the side behind the main field. The 3D demos will be on center stage but there will probably be enough room on one end of the field for flying even while it is going on (although I can't imagine why anyone would want to fly why the 3D demos are going on but it should be No problem-- and besides they fly at IRCHA while the 3D demos are going but just to the side of the center stage)

So there will be plenty of space to fly and don't worry about it if you are not a Pro pilot. There will be a lot of people of all different skill levels enjoying themselves. Just come join the fun! :)

The target drop should be a great event and we have our own target drop device, so no need to make your own. The closes anyone has gotten to the target is 16 inches. So let's see if someone can break that mark at the event.

The weather looks good for this Friday and Saturday. Folks this is one event you don't want to miss :)

I'm psyched! This will be my first heli event and even though I'm not competing, I'll be there tomorrow (Saturday) with my heli, ready to do some fun flying. Maybe I can plead with some of you to help me diagnose a very slight tail drift problem. The only thing I'm dreading is having to be on the road around 7 a.m. on a Saturday; I'm not a morning person.

The event today was fantastic! Bobby Watts really tore up the skies during his demo, outflying Alan Szabo, Jr., IMO. I even got a little hovering time in and managed to win the Novice contest, being one of two people participating. I'd like to congratulate the event organizers for doing such a good job, although I was a bit lost, being a newbie and all. More information about the individual activities would have been very helpful.

Also, great job ordering up the weather. The conditions were great!

I am glad that everyone really enjoyed the event. It was truly a great event, if I have to say so myself. Sometimes things don't always workout the way you want them to but this want work our great. We will strive to make it even better next year. If anyone has any additional ideas please feel free to PM with them so we can consider them for next year so I will be looking for feed back.

Also not that I am trying to encourage anyone to check out the opposing forums for helicopters but since Mark Ryder was there he did take a lot of pictures and videos and they will be on his forum under the Southern Rotary classic threads sometime within the next week or so. Thanks to everyone hope you see you next year :)

They apparently thought that the Novice contest (which I won) wasn't worth covering. Oh well, I'll just find my 15 minutes of fame elsewhere.
