Bob, make this a "Announcement" please.

For all of you running a short tail boom (204192), short tail boom conversion kit (204579) or the XES Pro combos which come with short boom already, the tail servo linkage rod length (204195) is designed for the stock boom length (204191), and will need to be shortened to accomodate the shorter boom.

I just got off the factory with GAUI, and they acknowledge that some kits were packed with the longer linkage rods, and they are working to remedy this immediately...I am off to Home Depot to buy a Tap & Die set to shorten the tail servo linkage rods here for all of our customers...if you were affected by this in your kit, or conversion kit, please email me at sales@readyheli.com to request a replacement tail servo linkage rod.

GAUI has pledged to make this right to all customers that were affected. So have we.

I spoke with Gaui This morning and they are still working on getting the rod stock to make new short boom linkage rods, so in the meantime so you can all fly, I am going to send XES Pro customers free a regular boom and belt so you can use that stock linkage rod now. Gaui will take a couple weeks to fix this issue, so we cannot have you all grounded until then. I did buy some tooling to die a 2mm rod this weekend to try to fix it, however it did not work out very well. Thank you for your understanding.

Please contact us to get your XES Pro Boom/Belt.

I think it may be easier to use the Raptor 30 system. They have two seperate rods connected by a aluminum part. I think I may do that for now.
Here is a link to the control rod system.

Ray:

We looked at that...they actually have three different versions PV0043, PV0168, and PV0346. The only thing that concerns us is whether or not the collar will touch the boom and introduce tail vibes (like it did on the raptor). If you elect to go that route instead to run the short boom, I will refund the cost of that part on your next order, minus the shipping from the store you purchase it from...it is the only way to run the short boom right now, unless we mount the tail servo on the boom and makeup some cf push rods...i like the idea of having the tail servo inside the frame however.

John I already have the parts from my raptors just laying around so no need to worr about refunding any money. I like the idea of the short boom myself so I am sure I can make something work. Personally I HATE the raptor tail setup but with limited options I may just do it for now and put some shrink wrap or something around the coupler so it doesn't rub metal to metal on the boom.

John what is the reason that you don't like the tail servo out on the boom.

its not that i dont like it...it actually cg's better when running a shorter boom. in-frame mounting protects the case a little better, especially in a boom strike.

Short boom ;)

I dont need an XES pro John as I have already done a build vid on most this heli anyway...
However doing updates / builds vids on the CF frames and short boom or anythng else others would like to see (including what you want) would be a plus!
I will do an update / build video FINALLY sponsored by Readyheli ;)
I am excited :)

Here is what I did with mine, until the shorter tail linkage is available OR I put the servo out on the boom. I put the raptor coupler out a little bit compared to the Raptors just to keep it away from the boom.

I just received an email from Gaui that they are sending me the shorter tail pushrod. I did the exact same thing as above but will replace it once the new shorter rod arrives.
