Just curious if there are any upgrades available for the Spectra-G tail rotor hub assembly, blade holders or pitch slider assembly?

The tail rotor hub is the heavy duty adjustable hub that comes stock in the Spectra.

Here is a the Tempest pitch slider you can use.

There is metal tail blade grips available. But I prefer the plastic one.

Wait. I am a bit confused - Is that T/R pitch slider that is pictured on the link standard on the Spectra G?

No, it's not standard. It's an upgrade part for the Spectra G.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the metal tail rotor grips that would fit with the Spectra?

These are the only metal tail grips that MA has. They will work on the Spectra.

I think if you try the stock plastic grips and then put on the metal tail grips that you will see no difference. The only difference will be the bling factor if that is what your looking for.

I received the MA123-05 - TEMPEST T/R PITCH CONTROL KIT and installed it. It's a very smooth unit. One word of caution. The threads in the aluminum are very easy to strip. Tighten the bolts just until they touch. I went a little past this point and stripped the threads. I had to re-tap the hole and use a larger diameter screw to replace it.

What screw hole did you strip the threads out ?
Only two holes that are threaded into the aluminum are the ones that hold the carbon fiber pitch arm in place. The arm is sort of a press fit, so blue loctite on the screws and snug them down is sufficent to hold it in place.

Those are the threaded holes I'm talking about. I barley went past the screw fully keeping the carbon fiber pitch arm in place and providing any holding power and the threads stripped. Maybe the threads were bad on this hole. I'm not sure. I just wanted to give everybody a heads up to be very careful when installing these screws. This is the first hole that has stripped out on me during this build and I put about a quarter as much tork as I did on the hundreds of screws I installed prior without incident.

Did you press the carbon piece in place first and seat it fully? Or did you try to pull it into place with the screws? The carbon arm is a press fit into the yoke from my experience of building three of the Tempest sliders. I pressed each one into place before I installed the two screws that will secure it from moving.

I pressed the carbon piece in place first, seated it fully then tightened the screws. Maybe I didn't start the screw properly? I was able to modify it and get it to work. I might order a second one and try again. :glasses2:

Does anyone know an on-line retailer that has the MA0860 - CNC TAIL ROTOR BLADE GRIPS in stock? Everywhere I checked has them back ordered.

MA will sell direct. You will pay the retail price they have listed in the online store.
But if MA does not have them, then no one else has them unless they have some in stock and have not sold them.
