Hello Everyone, first post here, just hoping some of you guys can help me out. First up here is the setup:

Logo 14 Standard
Plettenberg EVO 30-12
Hacker Master 77-0-Heli
14T Pinion
Flightpower EVO25 V-power 3700
At time of problem, Idle-up 2 running 100% 100% 100% (the only way for me to get fun head speed from this setup)

Anyway, today was the first day i was really comfortable with my Logo 14, ive had problems with stripping my mod 0.7 gears, and eventually sourced it to a overly-tight tail belt. Anyway, with a bit of confidence i had 4 great hard 3D flights today, faultless, and my god this machine is stunning!

Anyway, i had my last flight today, fresh charged EVO25 3700 pack, ripping the headspeed something stupid. Chaos launch, tumble it about, gain some height, dive, pull out, half roll, push up hard with a nice burst of negative pitch.......silence! act quick kicked the tail round pulled out and did a bit of a rough landing, only just had the pitch to soften the impact. Lucky the only damage was the right skid, but at least my new 600 Vblades are in tact!

Anyway, the ESC is properly dead, wont even arm. so thats gone to the bin. The question is, what do i get now?

For the moment im putting in a Hacker Master 90-0-Acro F3a from my 2 meter planes, setting it up really basic and putting in a V-curve. On monday i will go to work and find a new ESC, which leads me onto my question....

What ESC???

If i can happily blow up a 77A one, the logical step would be to go bigger, so how about the Hacker Jeti Spin 99? I think there is a heli version, though i will have to double check. If so i think ill go for that, if not, what do you all say? I got immediate access to Hacker, Jeti, Castle Creations and Synergy.

Hopefully this is the last problem to overcome, apart from the odd crash, before i can go properly ballistic all the time :clappp

Thanks
Ian

Sorry to hear about it,
Not the first Hacker 77 I heard about blowing up though... :?

Go Kontronik Jazz 55-10-32, you wont regret it.

Thanks for the quick reply Mel

Thats only a 55A controller isnt it though? surely if im killing a 77, a 55 will be no good? or am i missing something?

Its very "underrated" when its says 55 amp, Ive pushed 96 amp on the Kontronik and so have many many others, without issue, since your in the UK you wont have problem with ambient temp either (like me in sweden) if you do you can glue a heatsink on it (tips can be found here on HF)

right OK, sounds great, ill deffo look into it. Is there nothing that hacker or jeti make that would work equally as well?

Jazz is the best option out there.

I have to agree, Jazz is the best. I currently run a Jeti Spin 55 on my L10 but haven't been extremely happy with it. I'll be running a Jazz 80-6 on my Logo 500.

I'm regularly pulling 100+ amps through my 55-10-32 with my neu 1915-1y motor.
The esc needs a few minutes to cool between flights or it'll do a soft thermal shutdown (gives you time to land).

The kontronik esc is miles ahead of the castle creations units.
The governors in the castles don't work very well with overpowered setups in my experiences with them.
The hackers and jeti esc's are even worse than the castle's.
The jazz is the only way to go !

Nathan

ok ill look into the Jazz i think.

For the time being i used my Hacker 90-0-Acro (the one used in F3a planes  ) set up really standard, and programmed a v-curve. got five faultless flights out of it, and some video ill post later.

Ill obviously swap that hacker out soon, i cant fly my aeroplanes, but until i can get a jazz on the way to me, its staying in, im addicted to this heli :glasses2:
