I've had a Raptor 90 which flew great and a gohbee 90 which I was not that impressed with and I am now looking at the Century Predator Max 90 . Does anyone have any experience with this heli? How does it fly compared to a Rappy 90??

Hey,

I can be termed a little biased but I can give you some info on the Predators.

In reality the Predator will be more of a 3D animal than the Raptor 90 due to the 3 servo eCCPM controls, this setup being more direct and powerful.
The stacked frame design of the Predator also makes the machine very rigid and so lends itself well to hard 3D.

The new incarnation of the Predator, the Freestyle takes the model to the next level with some real improvements and changes made to keep it up to date.

The only problem we have had with the model is spares availablity, this came about with a move into a new factory & new suppliers. This problem is just being forgotten about now as new stocks of spares filter to all the shops.
Other than that the Predator is a great heli as many more will attest to when they see this thread.

Although I don't have it in front of me, RC Heli mag gave the Century 50 a fairly modest review. It didn't seem to be as 3D capable as other birds in its class. I didn't know if that was the same for the 90. So parts may be hard to come by, are they expensive?

I always enjoyed watching to see which part would land LAST..
Seemed to have a little trouble taking any abuse like hovering, rolls and the occasional flip.
BTW; I'm not biased, but I know a POS when I see it.

Thats just harsh Wayne, just harsh.
Repair cost is very resonable. They fly well when built correctly.
Pay attention to the crown gear mesh. It is a good heli at a nice price.
Parts have been a little issue in the past year, but seems to be coming around much better.

Luvin' My Predator MAX - about 150 or so hard flights on it and all is holding up very well.

Ditto for my Gasser version

I have had more issues with some other 90's I have owned then with my relatively inexpensive Predator MAX

Please check that mag again. The top ones, were tested with top equipment (e.g. top grade C/F mainblades, 601 gyro, top grade digital servos, OS50 Hyper motor, top type exhaust system etc.) The Raven 50 was tested with a far less powerful motor/muffler combination, a 401/9253 gyro combo, sport type servos, sport type Fiberglass composite mainblades. All of these cobmined will make a BIG difference in ANY helis 3D performance. Believe me, the Raven 50, equiped with top notch equipment will do it all and come back for more.

How a magazine could have conducted such a comparison, without using the same equipment on each, built and flown by the same pilot, makes it a sham.
