View Full Version : A little backyard flying with my FP.

Last Saturday evening I decided to fly my Esky Honey Bee FP in my back yard. My better half offered to video tape my flight. The wind was out of the west at up to 6 mph. As you can see, I don't have that much space in which to fly in my back yard. My neighbors also have some good size trees which come into play. My swing set also limits me somewhat. Anyway, at 2:20 into the video, I strike one of my neighbor's trees (my wife gets a good laugh in), yet I was able to save the heli and continue on flying. During the entire flight, I was fighting a loose tail and I should have just landed and adjusted the gain, but I decided to continue. The video ends with the heli making contact with the ground (just a dumb mistake ) right after my wife says that the heli is getting a little too close to her... in which I gave her a little snicker, then of course, my wife gave me that evil little snicker after the crash. No damage done to the heli, though. I'm still improving and having a great time with the HBFP!

The laugh at the end was the greatest. Now if you can get your wife to want one. My wife does now. So we are saving.

Bad part is her heli is going to take money away from my crashes

Yes, they are fun to fly. I just posted a couple of vids of me flying the Honey Bee in 10-15 mph winds. I had a blast and brought her home in one piece.

LOL! My wife doesn't really have any interest in flying the helis; however, she has expressed some interest in giving the fixed-wingers a try. I've never flown the planks either, so she and I can learn together. :D

You did good.
I guess there is nothing sadder then a chopper resting on its side or head on the ground.
We have all been there and its a constant threat the second we don't pay attention.
It happens so quick there is nothing to do or say except order some more parts and start again......
