busted blade

my brother in law crashed his trex 600. put it back together and we went flying on saturday. the first flight appeared to be ok then on the next flight the tail was not holding as it should. it acted like it was operating in normal mode but we verified everything was set right. reset the nuetral position and also added a ton more gain and it seemed to have no effect. now we are trying to determine if its the gyros brain, the amp, or possibley the rx. anyone have any suggestions?
