I'm getting ready to buy a Trex600 and the price of LiPos has got me really looking closely at the Nitro. BUT... I really like the clean quiet (?) power of electrics. So... If I do the electric, I really would like to try Flightpower packs because I've heard nothing but good stuff about the packs and the company.
However, with the cost of all the equipment, and the fact that I'm going to also have to buy a bigger charger (currently I can only charge 4s max), my budget's only going to allow me to buy one pack.
Do you guys think this is enough, at least for now? I'm not doing anything remotely resembling 3D yet, just hovering and some slow FF and easy circuits. Eventually I'll get another pack, but I'm pushing the envelope even buying the one.
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get a solid deal on one?
Thanks for the help!

Go ahead and get the BEST pack out, Flightpower. You may not be happy with the 600 and a cheap pack. Keep an eye on the for sale section and you can find a deal on a charger and sometimes even batteries. That'll save you some bucks! :D

You could consider going 10s A123 instead. Takes more effort and some expense up front but batteries cost half as much and last 500 cycles.

Air Thunder will be coming out with their 6S lipos soon. I do not know the exact date. If you decide to get a Align 600, you can research this in the forms while you're building and looking into a 6S pack. If the timing is right, they will have it available. I thought I'd bring this up :)

Don't skimp on batteries for your 600. I tried going the cheap route and was disappointed in the performance. Since I've picked up my FP EVO25 packs, I get longer flight times and as the batteries break in, I've noticed an increase in available power...

I agree with you 110% about using cheaper batteries. I have been flying the AT 4s and 3s with great results, and I am confident the AirThunder 6s packs will have the power / punch as the TP5000 with the added benefit of being capable of disharging to 2 volts per cell and not puffing.

I'm actually liking the AirThunder 3S packs in my 450V2 a lot. They're a tad heavier than my TP packs, but they seem to deliver pretty decent performance thus far. I've just passed the 8th cycle on each and can "feel" 'em starting to deliver the juice, much like my FP EVO25s 6S's are starting to do on my 600.
I'm certainly going to try at least one AT 6S pack when they're available...
