hey, I'll bite. What are those knobs for?

They move the CG of the blades slightly forward, and add a bit of mass. They increase stability.

The mCPX comes with a pair of these as well, but they are installed from the factory on the 130X.

Oh, the fast-flight blades.(never zoomed in and noticed them before). I fly a FP(120sr) and I am just now really doing the research for a CP.
Thanks

I would recommend that if you're considering this as your first CP to get a sim if you don't already have one. The mCP would be a better first CP due to crashability.

I thought they were male and female ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, just leary off working on something smaller than my 120sr.(eyes) Hmmm, Knew I'd need to get a new set of training gear and start light on the skids, of coarse w/ watered down transmitter settings(hear the mcpx does we'll in ground effect, figured as much with a bigger ver), but your right I'd beat it up something swell. Is real flight or phoenix a better route? I have a DX7s.
Thanks for looking out

Either one is good. Phoenix doesn't require as much from your computer to play smoothly and precisely but both will hammer the basics into your thumbs. My only thought was that this thing won't handle crashes as well as the mCP does. Plus if you've got a decent sized open indoor area (like a big basement, garage, or maybe something at work like a warehouse) that you could get more flying time in away from wind and such. Plus the 130 is at the very least 2.5 months away and that's IF it's released on time.

I've got a fairly decent indoor area. And that does leave plenty of sim stick time.
Thanks

I just put together a crash kit, training gear, 3 extra batteries w/ a mCPx v2 bnf and it's the same as a 130x bnf. I was leaning torward the 130x for ease of wrenching with failing eyes, as the 120sr is managable.
Question are the ball links on the mcpx that much smaller than on the 120sr? Is it harder to see front from the back on servo links etc?
Thanks for input!

Nah, it's pretty easy to distinguish from from back. Not much to work on, might want to fun a small socket to use to press the main gear back up in place after a crash but other than that it's pretty tough. Also set the pitch curve in TH to a flat 50, since doing that I haven't popped a link yet.

Cool, that will give me a less threatening platform to start with than a bigger heli and something to transition into 3d on down the line, that won't bring tears if it gets taco'd.
Cool thanks

I will be getting a V2 here pretty quick when some additional funds come in. Would it be ok to hit you up for transmiiter programming suggestion when it's at hand? So far I'm thinking limit the collective pitch to +5 degrees and throws down to about 1/2 travel for starters. Definatly want it to feel like a trainer, start light on skids(training gear) the whole nine yards. Any help would be great, programming my first build has me a bit stressed. ;)

I'll PM you later so as to not derail this thread or get too far off topic.
