Now that is a very cool looking canopy, great job.:noteworthy
I intend buying a HDX500 all aluminum kit without the motor or speed controller but want to run it with 2 x 3s battery packs as this is what i have for my Trex450 SE V2. Is this going to be possible as i want to be able to use 3s packs on both heli's to save buying different sized batteries. If i can do this can anyone suggest what size motor and gearing i would be looking at running 6s on the heli.

I tried running this Heli on 2 x 3s, but I connected them in parallel to have more capacity. The heli was flying very smooth with the stock engine and a 24 tooth pinion. It came up to 10 min flight time. But for sure this is not working for acrobatic flying.

Hi
Is the 3DX500 head the same as the HDX500se sold by Helidirect in this link?
http://www.helidirect.com/product_info.php?cPath=29&products_id=3167

The more I read about this heli the more I want one over the Trex 500 but am still waiting out for what people think of the Trex

Nice bird canizes how does she fly?

Nope. Thats the HDX-Head. If you have a look on the first page of this thread, you will see a picture of the 3DX-Head.

Its all in this thread you are writing in, just have a look in the middle of page 7. I can't compare both heads but I am very happy with the 3DX one.

I have both heads and the one that is one heli at the moment is the 3DX head. Much better cyclic response!!

The fly bar is a bit flimsy, but that would be the only downside to using the 3DX head, I broke both ends off in a botched auto.
