I recently gained the ability to hover my King for a full battery pack and have started noticing a major problem. I am certain that either the stock motor or the stock battery pack is gone. I can charge the battery with the esky charger and when I put it in the heli and take off it flies well for about a minute and then power drops to the point to where it can't leave the ground. The battery pack and motor are very hot. Has anyone else had this problem? I have read a couple of posts about the esky batteries going bad after quite a few charges but, I have only charged mine about 10-15 times. How can I tell if the pack or the motor is bad or do I just need to get a brushless motor and esc for it. Thanks for any help.

The motor pinion looks fine.

My guess is the motor is shot. My stock motor would get too hot to touch in about 5 minutes. I just switched to the Esky brushless 3100 kv motor with esc. They are plug and play, no soldering required (except for the jst plugs on the stock batteries, they will have to changed out to Deans plugs). You can pick up the motor/esc combo online for less than $50 ie.... jaghobbies.com, rc711.com, ebay. You will need a pinion for the motor 10t or 11t.
