Hello, I would like to tame this 550 a little in normal mode around center stick. So I assume I need to set up some expo for the aileron and elevator. My questiong is..Do I use +20 or -20 to tame it around the center stick on a DX7 ?

Thanks

In the expo move the curve concave to reduce the servo movement

Indeed, if you want to reduce cyclic response, you can also use the inner hole for the washout mixer arm. That will reduce cyclic by ~15%.

Or simpler, you can do the same on DX7 by reduce swashplate mixing ratio to <50% .

Or if you are a beginner, you can increase the paddle weight. The stock paddle is light and is ready for 3D.

You want +20 to make it softer around the centre.

Thanks...I wanted to make sure a +20 didn't make it more sensitive around the center.

Also in the DX you need to go to the next menu which is the switch positions and if expo is on in normal, idle 1, etc!!! If you just dial in the expo and not set the switch postions it wont "turn on" the expo or will be on in say normal and not idel up.

What I do is on the expo menu set to POS-0 then in the next menu set all the conditions to POS-0

Cool, thanks Bob.

Sure enough the next menu had all of them set to INH..which means expo was not actually working at all in any switch position ?

I watched that video that someone made on programming the DX7 but they never mentioned a word on expo. I would see the expo menu as he flew by it, but never talked about it :-(

Works great...Made a major difference. I set it to +20 and after I fly it that way a dozen times or so, Ill lower it to 10 or 15.

Thanks again
