guys here are some prototype pictures of the hurricane 550 frame stiffener that we will be introducing into the market...carbon fiber and g-10 composites...need to perform some final tests before it goes to full cnc routing.
no guessing on where to drill your frames, guides included in frame kit. let us know your feedback and thoughts.

I must say I like the idea of using the old motor mount (http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=43527) as well, but this sure looks very good.
One question; are all the sharp edges and excess material on the side plates realy neccecary? Do they add anything? I'm thinking most of the stiffness is added by the block inside the frame and the stiffness added by screwing that all together with the motor mount. It seems a bit surplus to me, altough it does folow all the forms in the frame very nice, thus blending in.
And the top view photo does not show the block very well as unsharp as it is...

didnt know there was a problem with the frame... or is that more a concern just if your using the upgraded motors?

I didnt fly mine stock long enough to know if the gears still wear prematurely but I think your OK if your running stock.

Looks good to me. I will have some sort of stiffener installed when I purchase a stronger motor. But I will also need the new motor mount then of course.

I am doing the exact side frame stiffener, but I also include the upper one way bearing and main gear bearing block as well.
