yes, they'll work fine. However if you have to buy these, buy the S9255's

Yea, the 9255 looks good, but metal gears so much more expensive to repair. 9252 gear sets are like $4, normal metal Futaba gear sets are $20+

Hi...
I was under the impression that plastic gears were better due to the fact they have less backlash than the metal...?
Cheers

I'm running 9252's and I definately need to order the servo keepers like the Fury's have. I was a bit disappointed that they didnt come with the kit.

Is that right, you don't get the servo supports in the kit?
Why do you think this is?
Anyone know the MA part number of the supports?
Do you buy them individually, or as a pack for the entire kit?

Well there was no sign of them in my kit, so I figured this is an option. I couldnt find a part number for a complete set, but I'm sure one of the Reps here will post it.

The Supports are not included in the kit. They are available as a set, unfortunately I couldn't find the part # in the catalog for it.

Thanks Carey, if you find it please let us know.
Any reason they didnt put them in the kit? I figured they might have added them since it is a Full 3D bird just like the Fury's.
Thanks again !

first, you may have noticed that the IonX was the first of the new generation models that didn't have the bridges. And, it works just fine and there haven't been significant add-on sales of the bridges for it. So the idea was carried over to the Spectra
second, including them would have pushed the retail price of the kit past the price point that Tim wanted it to sell for. Thats just market economics that all mfgrs are bound by.
Personally, I won't fly a gas model without them. I've saved several models because I was careless and didn't notice that bolts that held in a servo had gotten loose and would vibrate out during a flight. The bridge keeps the servo roughly in place even with no servo bolts (although you'll know something is wrong). This happens less with electric or glow models, because the vibration level is lower.

Actually Ididnt know the Ion X didnt have them.
Well as soon as I can find that part number I will be ordering a kit, I have also found some loose servo bolts even though I use blue locktite on them.
I dont think I'll be flying again any time soon since we have about 18 inches of snow and its still snowing like crazy out there :(
I am about 2/3 of the way finished with my Spectra G article that will be submitted to MHF, they just published my Open Gear Box article and I'm doing a real nice , long, article on the Spectra.
I havent noticed any great amounts of vibration on the spectra with the TRM 231. I am trying to get ahold of some accelerometers and a meter just to see the vibe difference between my Fury with the OS 91 and the Spectra with the 231 would be nice to see the difference.
Have a Great Day, I'll call MA tomorrow to try and get a Kit number on the Servo Savers !

noticed there is a 2.5 & 2.6 for futaba...? Is this for different servos...?
thanks

They are the same. The Futaba metal output shaft servos actually use a 2.6 mm screw to hold the horn in place. Sometimes the stubs are listed as being 2.5 mm and sometimes they are listed as being 2.6 mm.
No matter how they are listed, they are the correct size and will work in the Futaba metal output shaft or plastic output shaft servos.
