Who made 'em? Where can I get one, and what Electronics components should I get?
I was impressed with Henry's foamie, but like a dipstick, I didn't ask for specifics.
I have no knowledge of Li-Poly stuff, and have nothing to work from, so I basically need someone to detail out a full system, cuz I gotta have some!!

Chris Bissell from Ohio was at the event and selling some nice foamy kits for $35. They were similar to the one Jody Greer was flying. The one HC and Will were flying comes from Ikraus. Eric Larson makes and sells a foamy kit. He was flying it Saturday evening at the field. The plane is the least expensive part, they will run $25 to $50 for the kit. The electronics is where the cost will come into play. Looking at least $250 for servos, reciever, ESC, Brushless motor, li-po battery. Then you need a charger to charge the li-po battery. A Triton will work good for the batteries for foamy type planes.

Cool, How can I get in touch with Chris Bissell? I'd like a recommendation on what motor, prop, battery, and esc to get. I found that my field charger can do Li-Po's, so I can use that. I really despise Hitec servos because of the deadband, but also have not tried their servos other than a t/r servo that came on a used heli.
thanks for the input!

I just asked Henry what he would recommend for a good Out runner axi motor and this was the reply...hope HC doesnt mind...
I think the 2212/34 would be my first choice. And the next choice would be the 2212/26. The phoenix 25 or 35 for controller.

LameBird:
For servos, I use the BlueBird 306's. They only weigh 6.4g (0.22oz) including the wire. They produce 12 oz in. of torque and are rated at 0.11s per 60 degrees.
To compare this to some Hitecs, an HS-50 weighs 6.6g, only produces 9 oz in. of torque, and travels 60 degrees in 0.09 seconds. And the HS-55 weighs in at a whopping 7.8g, produces 13 oz in. of torque, and also takes 0.09 seconds to go 60 degrees.
Now price: The Bluebirds can be bought for $13.99!
Hitecs are around $18.49 to $24.99. What's the better deal? I think BMS-306s will make you happy!
Jeanette
PS - I forgot to mention that I like the Berg RX's. Lite and affordable.

Thanks for the comparison...I have been looking at maybe gettion some bluebirds instead of the HS55. I heard the GWS Pico servos are pretty good too and about the same price as the bluebirds???

I'll be travelling today, but will search around for them tonight. I PM'd Chris, hopefully the motors quoted above will be priced, and available. I probably ought to get spares too the way I fly..

Chris Bissel's Designed Foamie as wthe best flying foamie I have ever flown. He has the bluecore ones for 25 nad the Depron for 35. They are very well designed and fly AWESOME. Look for his website and online store in the no so distant future. He also has a Pitts and a few other designs in the works.
