I think we're all familiar with it. That moment you turn off/on the transmitter and the Blade CP springs to life at full throttle. While I've managed to avoid it lately through proper procedure...
On
1. Transmitter on
2. Battery Plugged in
Off
1. Unplug battery
2. Transmitter off
... this evening I accidentally switched on/off the transmitter while the Blade was on the workbench. Sure enough, it sprung to life right in front of me, bruising/cutting my forearm. Expletive. Expletive. Fortunately, I was wearing my safety glasses.
Aside from bruises. No damage done.
Note to E-Flite: full throttle is a ridiculous failure mode.

um
tx is the first thing given power and hte last thing turned off. always turn the tx on, check that idle up switch isnt in idle up and that the collective stick is down.. all the way down. then plug in the battery.. then when your done unplug the pack then turn the tx off

Collective all the way down
Idle up is normal
Still happens.
Not reproducible on demand, but consistent trouble if the Tx is shut off before the Blade CP battery is unplugged. Both tail rotor and main go full tilt. Quirky. Less destructive in the driveway than the workbench.

its cuz when the tx is on, the rx is seeing that signal. once that signal is gone the rx has to accept any interferrence. wich leads to crazy things happening. get rid of the stockeflite stuff
the pro needs a higher head speed then what eflite allows. you can also fine to the tune heli to the way you like it, instead of the heli tuning you
not to mention it sounds like you instantly love this awsome little switch called THROTTLE HOLD. if its turned on no power gets to the main motor. but ive found that i have adriven tail when throttle is on.. on if i give the rudder imput to speed up the motor. if i dont then the motor wont turn on. not even if the gyro tells it to ...

LOL, it is just one of those procedures you will need to make habbit. Always take your helis ability to damage you or others seriously and go through a few quick mental safty checks EVERY time you are powering up/down your heli.
I cannot fly with out attracting several of the neiborhood kids so safty checks are always an absolute must for me. Use Throttle hold to start as you will (if not allready) undoubtedly bump the throttle stick while adjusting things. TxFlyer made me think about the throttle hold switch and now I use it as part of my regular rutine.

the part i hate the most is when you first plug the battery in.. i know nothing will happen. but your face is right above it.. the cp's can spool up pretty quick.. esp when you plug the battery in idle up..that'll gt your piss running.. down your leg

yeah I feel the same. That is why every time I have anything to do with the battery being plugged in or unplugged I have my Tx sitting on the ground next to me so I can go over all the switches and sticks and make sure they are where they need to be.

same here. i will also fall backwards and do a judo kick at the heli to try and keep her from flying off. i do have neighbores and people in my hood like to be outside. so even tho my backyard is big it would be very easy for the heli end up over someone else yard or house. then if it crashes into the roof of someone elses house. i have to freak out cuz i dont know what if any damage has occured to the lipo. a exploding lipo on the roof of a house = insurance claim

Thanks for your thoughts.
Totally agree on throttle hold. I've got throttle hold programmed in my DX7 for my T-Rex. It makes me feel a little safer on pre-flight.
Interesting to hear that the E-Flite curve may be bottling up the motor a bit. Maybe I'll bite the bullet and finally ditch the E-Flite stuff on the Blade CP.

Yes do that if you want your CPP to fly much better. The EFlight radio is prone to glitches like crazy. Yeah, and for some reason EF decided to reduce the throttle curve on the CPP. Probably to get the maximum battery life.

i had my throttle curves set to 0-35-70 when i first got my dx6 and the hs about the same as when i was in idle up with the stock radio.. since i ended up really like my tc's in normal mode set to 0-55-88. the heli doenst lift off it smoothly and gently pops up. nothing scarey just a good looking take off. in flight yes the cyclic has a good deal more responce, same with the collective.. but i ended up putting in 3% expo on both the ail and ele. i also switched to trex paddles with out weights. i think there like .9 grams heavyer then stock with the weights.. but cuz bigger and longer. less movment equal more force.. it kinda balances its self out. but man for me atlest i loved the way it made the heli feel..

Plus some of the Military radios that they use now make the Heli do REALLY INTERESTING things. It is just part of flying in a war zone.
