Do i need the 'ferrite ring' with the BEC's wire to the RX if i use 2.4G TX and RX? Are the 2.4G radios 'free' from these interferences?
Best regards,
Rich

I'd say that the ferrite ring should still be used as the interference you get from the BEC is not necessarily via radio but induced via the cables through to the receiver making havoc.

I don't think it is needed with a 2.4GHz Rx. Just one data point, I have been flying Spektrum AR6000 Rx on five different eHelis over the last year and a bit, all without ferrite rings and zero problems. Some plastic frame, some CF, some Aluminium.

Thanks Tomas for the advice.
Also thanks a lot kgfly for sharing your experiences and expertise every time i have questions. :noteworthy BTW, i've also heard about the antenna not being close or touching CF, so how do you mount(or hang) the short antenna of the 2.4G RX? Is there any clean way to do it?

Rich

Depends on the heli. Hanging out the side usually works fine. If there is a chance of touching or rubbing on the frame I slip some heatshrink or fine tube over the lower section of the antenna. On some helis I have a tiny antenna tube zip tied to the frame and just slip the antenna into it.

Thanks kgfly, i was also thinking of slipping the antenna into some antenna tube zip tied or taped to the frame, but just not sure if its ok to do that. Now it's safe with your advice. :D
