Default Any issues with the plastic bearing blocks?

Hi guys. I have one on my way. I really like how this heli look, I hope it flies very well also.

What really bothers me are those plastic bearing blocks. Do you guys think it will gonna be an issue? I just fly sport and very mild. Can it hold up before upgrading them to the aluminum ones? Or shall I upgrade them from the start?

Btw, which is your favorite parts on-line store for this X50E? Aside from Tower Hobbies.

Thanks.

Plastic bearing blocks have been fine on my nitro X50's and I will be leaving the plasitc ones in my E.
I read somewhere (on this forum) that someone had chewed theirs out but you never get the full story, I reckon they would have to be damaged in a crash.
My favourite store is the one I own.

Thanks Carlos. One story out of plastic bearing issue is not that bad. I'll use them once I build my kit.

Can't wait!

I wonder why they even put those plastic ones in to start with?

I have over 75 flights on mine. I just had it apart from my recent crash and there is 0 slop in the plastic bearing blocks.

LOl! I guess thats a satisfactory answer. I have heard of them failing on the Nitro though, it may have more vibes than the E model and wallow out the plastic bearing carriers.

My plastic ones were just starting to show a little bearing slop after ~50 flights. I just replaced them with the metal upgrades and all is tight like new again. Plus they look soooo nice, bling-bling, lol!

These plus the cf gyro mount and cf tail blades is really all the bling you can add on this heli. Oh ya, and a better/firmer frp yellow canopy and matching yellow TT skid-stops, which I now have!

Cheers,
TomC

Hey Tom, is this the yellow FRP canopy you have?
Some people don't like the design of the Thunder Tiger canopies, but how much better looking could you get and have air ports made into the canopy? They've placed 3 holes in the canopy and made them look cosmetically appealing. Things get much hotter in the summer and those electronics will be happy with any air they can get.

Yup, that's the one I got. I think it looks pretty good and ya those cooling holes really help to keep things cooler. I also opened up the top of mine a bit to give full clearance for my 700mx clone motor which helps a bit too.

Best thing with the frp is that it is a lot stiffer than the stock plastic canopy which seemed to vib a lot for me. Also, I fly surrounded by a lot of tall trees and that green canopy was kinda hard to see. The yellow is a lot better but I wish TT had actually put a bit more yellow coverage on it.

Cheers,
TomC

I did a hurried, real quick piss poor job of making all the white on the canopy yellow and fading it into the red to see what it would look like.

The chinese know how to build a good helicopter but have no concept of canopy colors
