just curious is anyone if anyone has tried the 1100kv motor with the Gaui 50 amp esc? or has anyone checked the amp draw on the 1100kv motor?

I STRONGLY advise against it...our e-logging has illustrated peak 56 amp draw using this winding with the 75 amp esc and (2) FP 3S1P EVO25 2500...If you are setup for 3D and are using the full range of the head and load it up you can easily pull 60 amps...I am not sure how GAUI rates their esc's,,,,so please be careful...that esc was designed to use the 980Kv smalled GAUI winding motor, with 2100-2300 sized packs. Please report back to us all your findings and make sure you have video of the results...

I though the stock motor was rated 850Kv, or was it 800Kv, or was it ... I'm lost :? What is it??

Ok, I run the Z30 1100kv on the 50A ESC.
I know there has been logged peaks over 75A for short periods of time, and it still alive and working, not on mine though, but on a friends Hurry (same set up)
If it's not broken, why fix it?

Hey John, Just trying to figure this all out, this is what is on ReadyHeli web site for the stock motor : "1000W(KV800) external brushless motor...included in kit". This is what the correction sheet to the manual included with my recently purchased Hurricane said: "With the new standard BL-Motor(KV-850)". The reason I am asking is that I based my calculations for the pinion for my Revco gears on 850. Do I need to adjust my numbers to 980 to get my motor speed for the stock motor i.e. 11.1x2x980=21,756 ? Sorry to be a bother, but that is a significant difference in motor speed, and about a 12%plus increase in head speed. ....that is unless I understand all this less then I think I do :?
Thanks

John,
I plan on ordering the new 1100kv, and I also have the new evo 2500 3s packs, what kind of flight time are you getting now ?
I will most likly get the align 75 amp esc if I have to!

Using the Z30-1100 and Evo 2500 packs I get 4.5 minutes average. Flying it harder yelds 4 minutes. THis is why everyone is looking at 3300 packs now.

Guys:
We are flying the evolite 4250's and evo30 3200's...looking good...but short boom has cg issues...we are swapping over to long boom tonight to see if it rectifies it.

Why the Evo30's They are heavier than the 25C 3300's?
Have you tried the 25C 3300's? I was thinking of getting some to try myself but if you have data already share it!

Truth?
No one is stocking them here..duralite and great planes are out of stock currently.

Ah that would explain it!
I have some 5S 3300's but I know those wont cut it.....

when you using the short boom, do you alter the gear ratio to the tail rotor?
I'll gues you get a nasty working tail otherwise??

Bob what about 5s with a higher KV motor?

TP 3s 3300s will balance perfect with the short boom. I was prepared to move the tail servo out to the boom but that was not necessary.
I mounted the ESC on the side of the frame and pointed the leads from the packs toward the back to further shift the CG back.
I have not tested with 14T (currently on) but with 15T, with RCP 500mm, I was getting 2780rpm with about 4:15 flight time with 3300s. Going to 14T reduced the head speed to 2650 and hoping to get another 15-30 seconds of flight time.
I also mounted the skids pointed back to ease the weight distribution during sitting in the car without the packs.
