Flashing light on 401 all the time

Hello guys. I hope you can help me. My 401 on my Trex has stopped working. When I power up the system, the red light on the 401 flashes quickly and then flashes slowly after that. The manual says a slow flash means no data from the radio. But I can move the rudder stick and the tail blades move. I can rotate the gyro and I can see the tail blades move. I have reprogramed the transmitter and checked all the connections but still get the slow flashing light and it doesn't hold a heading. Any ideas what is wrong? Sounds like the 401 itself but I am not sure nor do I know how much it would cost to fix. The gyro has never been damaged in a crash as far as I know.

Its the single wire that matters. Either its plugged in backwards or you dont have the radio set up right to boot the gyro into heading hold mode.
