Thx Dirk, that's useful info. I didn't quite expect it to have such an influence as it is supposed to be shielded.

I could not get the 2-in-1 to play nice with my futaba receivers. The servos would just dance like crazy during the range check with a regular PPM receiver and I would experience lockouts after flying about 2/3 of a tank with a PCM receiver. I changed to a regular 4.8 pack with a switch and flew 2 tanks without a problem. If there is a secret to getting them to work together let me know. I'm on the brink of purchasing a 2.4 system.

I would be interested in doing a little survey. How are your 2 in 1 installed? Could this be a factor, are they flat, horizontal, vertical up/down or sideways...
Just a idea.

That would be an interesting study. I initially had mine mounted on the bottom of the receiver holder with the heatsink facing down and the small controller on the front of the receiver holder so I could access it through the hole in the canopy. I also moved the controller and mounted it on the fuel tank. Neither setup worked. I don't think there are many options for mounting the main part of the 2 in 1 due to the short glow and power leads.
