Hello I have a OS 32 ringed engine and it sounds flat it's running too rich but the main needle has no effect on leaning it out if it's half a turn out or 3 turns out theres no difference I'm new to nitro heli's although I have experience with nitro rc cars please can someone give me some advice.

As i can see you don't have an answer yet so i will try to help you. You can go to the website of OS and download a manual. There you can see that there are two needles. It seems that your mixture needle is the one that gives you the ritch seting. Try to lean it a little this might help.
Have you correctly identified the needles?
The main needle is the one opposite the carb throttle lever,
the main needle has the fuel pipe connected to it's base
The main needle is facing us in this picture

If the main needle has no effect then you need to dismantle and clean the carb
The low needle is the one that you have to adjust with a screw driver,
it works from idle up to 60% or 70% throttle
