OK here is where the Trex600 Nitro Pro vids will be.

I know Mercuriell did some segments on this heli to cover areas of the Trex that were different from the 600 Electric. He did a DAMN good job too! But since I like to do vids I plan to do the entire build on video. Yes I will be doing every step even though many are like the 600E. But my E vids are now almost a year old so things may be slightly different and I thought it might be good just to do tham all again. Kind of like up to date :)

I started on Tuesday but only got done "whats in the box". I plan to do more tomorrow and attempt to finish before IRCHA but there is a LOT to cover. I will be doing engine setup and break in, I will show how to set up 2 governors (Curtis ATG and GV1), and MUCH MORE. THis series will probably be my biggest as there is more to cover than an electic.

So let get on with it:

Video Link ->Step 1 - Head and Grip Assembly (48 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step1.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 2 - Seesaw and Flybar Assembly (85 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step2.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 3 - Swash Plate and Washout Assembly (24 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step3.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 4 - Main Gear and Engine Clutch Assembly (38 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step4.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 5 - Main Frame Assembly (85 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step5.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 6 - Mounting the Fan, Clutch and Governor Magnets (57 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step6.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 7 - Mounting and setting up the GV1 and ATG / TJ Pro Gov Sensors (66 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step7.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 8 - Installing the Motor and Fan Shroud (28 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step8.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 9 - Installing The Servo Bellcranks (33 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step9.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 10 - Servo Installation (30 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step10.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 11 - Servo and Bellcrank Setup (80 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step11.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 12 - Fuel Tank and Fuel lines (56 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step12.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 13 - Throttle Servo install and setup (48 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step13.wmv)

Wow the GV-1 took me some time to get right. Several reshoots etc. I wanted to give you all the MOST info about it's use as possible. Anyway this one is in 2 parts!
Video Link ->Step 14 - Part 1 / GV-1 Overview and base radio setup (50 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step14.wmv)

Video Link ->Step 14 - Part 2 / GV-1 Menus and setup (60 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=step14a.wmv)

Here is a neat tip I figured out. How to make a throttle cut switch for a DX7 radio!
Video Link ->How to set up a Throttle Cut Switch on a DX7 radio (23 Megs) (http://video.helifreak.com/?subpath=finless/trex600_nitro&filename=dx7cutswitch.wmv)

OK here is the Curtis ATG gov setups. Easier to setup than a GV-1 and is much like the TJ Pro. ALSO some might want to watch part 2 as a show a neat trick to get 3 RPM's tied to your idel up switch! This would be helpful to TJ Pro users as well!!!

OK here is the first flight vids and my attempt at showing how to break-in and tune a OS50. I feel bad about this vid (not up to the quality I would have liked to do) as I guess I just dont do that great out in the field with training vids... But I do believe this covers the basics. In the end PLEASE let me know what you would like to see on this stuff as I am willing to DO MORE.

Bob!

Wow! I've only been into this for a year now, but I've spent more than 20 years in fly tying and fishing, which is a great community and I've met many wonderful people who are very dedicated, enthusiastic and helpful to others - but I have NEVER EVER seen your kind of dedication. Although Helifreak.com swarms with wonderful, dedicated and helpful people, YOUR stuff shurely takes the trophy!

The T-Rex 600 will be my next build, so keep it coming!

Thanks!

I'm going to start buying 600 parts eventually, but I was hoping you would do something like this. Your electric video helped many of us get started in this hobby and watching people fly nitro's up close and personal is somewhat intimidating. Although I have people to help me I don't like being completely dependant on others at the field. Your time and help is very much appreciated.

The pro has a torque tube, carbon frame and fins. The standard has belt drive tail, and G10 frames and fins.

OK vids are going up! Did a lot of shooting yesterday afternoon. So far this has been a blast. I am also comparing parts to the E version where I see changes from the E build I did a year ago.

Anyway steps 1-5 are now up.

Hey Bob,

Great start on the vids, they are fantastic as always.

Do you know what blades and gyro you are going to be using yet?

Cheers

I will be using Align carbons and a 601 gyro that I already have (same as 611).

Great to see the Maestro turn his attention to the 600N :noteworthy :noteworthy :noteworthy Like Bob I thought there wasn't much point in paying too much attention to the run out of the clutch assembly as there really isn't anything to adjust :? I might do some dial gauge measurements though when I get my QuickUK prototype fan just for the hell of it.

Did you spot the differences in the main gear hub between nitro and electric - I ordered one of each to check out why the nitro version is twice the price - obvious when you compare them side by side - the central hub is much beefier in the nitro version, deeper and thicker (and comes with the one way ready installed :thumbup: )

Bob, A question for you........

In my kit, my original Flybar rod is 400mm in length. At the LHS I picked up a spare Flybar and found that it is now 440mm in length?

So, what is the proper one to use? and what is the difference in flight? :dontknow

Thanks,
