I have :

Motor: OBL 43/11-30H 1050 kV
lipo: 6s 4900 FP
pinion : 20

I set my jazz 80-6-18 to 70% IDL1 and 85% IDL2, but my motor RPM are not costant , why ?
In Y axis there is motor RPM, if you want HS you must [ rpm/10.6 ]

I think the Jazz Govenor works on checking the amp pull.
Once you have shown the ESC the end points of your throttle (0 to 100), Then upon first spool up you have to let the motor settle into a constant RPM(amp pull) the ESC then go's off those values for RPM so when you first start it up make sure you have your throttle curve constant ie: (0-70-70-70-70) all Idle ups should be linear(85-85-85), after that the RPM should stay fairly constant pending the load you put on it.
Don't be surprized if under a heavy load the RPM drops by 200 RPM that will happen, but in hover you should hear the RPM go up and down through throttle curves only.

BTW. jazz ESC have the best GOV and softest spool up on the market IMHO

Wait for a 10 seconds in the hover until you notice the governor kick in

The soft start is good but it also means you can't bail from an auto

Big willie, I have to correct you. This is not your opinion, it is fact. :mrgreen:
I finally came back around to the Jazz on my L500 and what a world of difference. I won't use anything else again.

Check the endpoints of the radio.

You are most likely hitting max RPM at 85% already, and there is no headroom for the governor to work with.

Hello, i was wondering ... how can you tell that the governor has 'kicked in' while it is hovering?

Hi!
Just to add some infos, don't go beyond 80% with an Jazz, everything greater than 80% will result in bogging. Why? because the range a Jazz uses is different from the range other Escs use. Just make some logged flight and you'll see it. There was a long discussion about that in an German forum with quit a lot of flight logs.
Everytime you change something than reset your Jazz. Just set it to mode 1 and back to Mode 4 (heli). Don't forget to set lipo mode (mode 9) and motor direction (mode 7) if you used that before!

I'm using the following configuration...
Normal -> 0% fixed
Idle 1 -> 65% fixed
Idle 2 -> 80% fixed

If I have to program my jazz, I set the last 3 points (high stick, my transmitter has 13) of my throttle curve to 100%. Than let the Jazz learn the range, set my mode. Than I set my curve back to 0% fixed. Start-up procedure is like that, plug-in everything, pitch at the middle, switch to idle 1, wait a few seconds until I hear that the rpm stays at a certain frequency and lift off.

One thing which is really important is that you have a fixed throttle curve / fixed value at the throttle channel! That's really important! There are some functions like hover offset where you change a curve. The last transmitter I've seen which has this function enabled by default was a Futaba T10. Really, not a good idea when using a Jazz! Switching between different values is no problem, but if you change it over time a Jazz would shutdown!

The main point why I use a jazz right now is it's motor management. The dark side of Jazz / Jive is that it doesn't have a heli with throttle curve mode, soft start is only available when using the governor. That's something I would really appreciate. But there's no sign Kontronik would implement something like that.
